Hi im Owen. Im in a very shit and unstable living situation i’d like to change(homelessness is a very real possibility). However i cannot be legally employed so i can’t move out on my own as i have no source of income.

The problem with forcibly seizing the assets of, say, Jeff Bezos is that his net worth of $161 billion does not mean he has that in cash. That’s the worth of everything he owns, including stock in his own company.

And the problem with seizing THAT is that it isn’t real. It’s based on confidence and what people might conceivably pay for it. And if you just seize it, that confidence tanks. And then that wealth evaporates.

The problem with capitalism isn’t that there’s a bunch of old dudes sitting on hoards of cash. It’s that they’ve collectively created a system by which they have ludicrous social and economic power based on the PROMISE of hoards of cash. That don’t exist. They have created a social stratum in which debt is money.

That’s why the exhortation is to SEIZE THE MEANS OF PRODUCTION, not GO GRAB ALL THE MONEY. Because the money isn’t real, and the need to go out and get it is blinding people to the fact that it doesn’t need to exist.

Hello all. Two days ago (6/7/19), one of my aunts peacefully passed away in a Connecticut hospital. My mother is making preparations to visit the family up there to pay respects, spend time with loved ones, and help plan a funeral service. She will be taken care of once she is there, but she will need gas money for the trip up there and back. A roundtrip from Savannah, GA to Danbury costs around $203 in gas according to this estimate. I’m starting a new post since the last one I made didn’t get much traction and unfortunately didn’t bring more to last me a few days, but I really need your guy’s help in circulating this if you can since I appreciate all your guy’s willingness with all of this.

I’m nearing a point where I can start to mend my financial position, as an old recruiter I worked with has a temporary position for me in the next two weeks, a well as I have an interview with calfresh for some help on that end.  In the meantime, I’m overdrawn because of a phone bill I needed to pay, and I don’t have the requisite funds to feed or transport myself in the meantime between interviews in the city. 

Living in a city like San Francisco, I’ve been able to make a little go a long way, but I’m hoping to reach a goal of $250, which would give me a buffer in the coming weeks before I start the food benefit program and this side job.  Any donations would help, but also reblogging this again would be a great help too.  Thanks again everyone.

Urgent !!! - Help Two Trans Men Not get Locked Out of their Shelter as one Recovers from Top Surgery - Cab Fare Needed 🚕

My husband is currently in the hostipal ( for his top surgery that was fortunately to be completely covered by insurance ) and will stay at the hostipal for the next 24 hours. Unfortunately, I can’t stay the night with him at the hostipal because I have to go back to the shelter where we live to sign for the bed to ensure our place. If I don’t sign for the bed we WILL be locked out. Anyone mind sparing money for the 3 trips I will need to go home and come back to pick him up and bring him home. While doing well he can barely walk much less walk up the 5 flights he’d need to alone.

Each trip to between the shelter, in the Bronx to the hostipal in lower Manhattan is $45-50 dollars. I need to make 3 trips so a total of $150 would be deeply appreciated.
