First Meeting...
My brain doesn't care that it's no longer MerMay, this AU has been rotating in my head for weeks.
Hunter is half-merman in this (he's the son of Evelyn and Caleb), and has been raised by his Uncle Philip, who forbids him from swimming or going in the water and is generally an unpleasant person to be raised by. One day, he falls into the ocean (trips on some rope) and finds out why his Uncle was so weird about the ocean.
Basically merpeople only transform underwater, and when Hunter falls in and starts panicking because he can't swim, the fish tail appears, he realizes he's suddenly able to breathe, and he freaks out even more.
And then he eventually runs into Willow and the others and shenanigans ensue.
Anywho, I have a bunch of fun ideas for this AU and will probably do more stuff with it at some point.
Hypothetically speaking if you put three people who are good at puzzles in an escape room, it would go well. However. See, if it's the wrong three people...
River and I were chatting about the disastrous potential that would be putting Claire+Clive+Descole in a room together, and go figure, an escape room would be the peak of that....
