Funny story: okay so I went to this artist’s Instagram to comment about it, bc I’d been a fan of her for years, &l got attack with excuses like: “she’s Chinese, she doesn’t understand the history of Blackface” or “she’s just an artist who makes herself over to look like everyone to show appreciation”. What the fuck?? That’s no excuse?? Especially since there are other artists who do the same but just without black face. It’s not fucking hard!!
To even further prove my fucking point: there’s this huge and mega talented makeup artist called @/ thealexisstone one insta and he does makeup JUST AS the other artist (the woman above is @/ yuyamika7) AND DOES IT BEAUTIFULLY WITHOUT BLACKFACE. He makes himself look like others without offense too! He’s so talented! (The looks below are Will Smith, Laverne Cox, &Nicki Minaj!)
