☾ MOON IN SCORPIO ♏ ~my placements series~
(This is part of a little series where I’ll share some of my own descriptions of my natal chart placements because I had previously written them whilst bored. I won’t be doing each sign, just sharing what I’ve written about my chart. I hope y’all enjoy even if I don’t cover your placements!)💗✨
☾ (Inner Self/Emotions/Instinct)➪ Observant, intense, emotional, intimidating, nurturing, loyal, hyper-aware, emotionally-intelligent, psychic, transformational, alluring, curious, investigative, passionate, magnetic, resilient, instinctual, self-controlled, enigmatic.
➪ This placement is arguably the most intense moon, with the moon representing the hidden depth and emotional rawness within everyone, and Scorpio (often described as the most emotionally potent sign) representing intensity, chaos and extreme transformation.
➪ Masters of what’s going on “behind the scenes”, they can sense a person’s true motives and emotions almost instantly. Deeply psychological and highly instinctual, it is almost impossible to fool them or lead them by the nose.
➪ Most are secretive and aren’t quick to trust others, they are very selective with who they give their time and energy to because they know their worth and aren’t afraid to prioritize their emotional well-being.
➪ They are constantly experiencing a profound cycle of death and rebirth of their emotional identity- you may never know them fully because they are always quietly evolving at rapid rates, without so much as batting an eye to the outside world.
➪ Can experience periods of depression and heavy internal mood swings because they are so repressive of their dark emotions, which build up inside them and are often released in a catharsis.
➪ They know that the majority of people aren’t capable of understanding this intense emotional depth, and so they don’t bother letting it be known to begin with.
➪ They always find a way to get back up from life’s challenges- they let themselves crumble completely to then rebuild and transform themselves into a stronger and more resilient self.
➪ Knowing that their intensity frightens and pushes others away, they learn to rely on themselves wholly and become completely self-sustainable, especially in an emotional sense. (but in reality all they want is someone patient enough to understand and dissect them for a change)
➪ Extremely sensitive to their surroundings and other people. They take the necessary measures to ensure their emotional well-being and so are very protective and often times defensive of their inner-world/emotions/fears/vulnerabilities.
➪ They excel in any field requiring them to penetrate the human psyche and figure out extreme psychological puzzles.
➪ Others feel deeply understood by them because of their ability to see beyond facades and wholly empathize- which can trouble them because others would easily use them as an emotional dumping ground if they allowed it (hence the thousands of walls they have to put up).
➪ They love to test people’s boundaries and observe how emotionally capable others are- no one would know any better if they are subject to a Moon in Scorpio’s psychological experiments (other than someone equally as perceptive).
➪ Even if they don’t seem like it, they are observing everyone in the room intently at all times. They enjoy analyzing interactions between people and are genuinely fascinated by how the human mind functions- so much so that nearly everyone in their life becomes an object of interest and curiosity because of the secrets their psyches may hold. This, in turn, allows them to understand themselves and their own deep-seated traumas to an even further extent.
➪ Despite the harsh turmoil of their emotions, and the intimidating extremes they experience, at the end of the day they only desire to be emotionally stable and nurtured. They are in constant search for their own safe haven of peace and tranquility, often in the form of a person who can understand their intensity and is willing to be patient alongside them.
➪ Once that wall of distrust and wariness is overcome, they become consumed with giving everything to those they love, and they are practically at the disposal of those they care about- although this is something you’ll seldom, if ever, hear them express to you.

LIBRA MOONS are internally romantic and sentimental. Have been dreaming about their fairytale ending since childhood. A perfectionist who needs to do everything in pairs. Almost more picky than a Virgo moon on a good day. Needs balance like a plant needs water. If something feels too one-sided, they will counteract it by whatever means necessary. The first of their friends to have a crush, their first kiss, etch. Often popular among their peers because of their sweet and understanding nature. Feelings of loneliness brings them to tears. Could have a lot of acquaintances, but nobody to reach out to in their darkest hours. Puts their “ugly” feelings in a box, which only further perpetuates the loneliness. Needs to learn to accept all of themselves, not just the parts that are beautiful and socially acceptable. If you can’t be yourself, then you’ll be perpetually lonely, Lunar Libra! Impressed and fearful of people who walk headfirst into conflict. Absolutely cannot handle discord, and will not be content until it’s over. Disagreements disturb their spirit. Cannot sleep at night if they feel like they hurt someone else. Is usually the one people go to after a get into a fight because they can see all sides. The nurturing figure was often fair-minded and highly invested in the Libra moon’s social life. This figure was easy to talk to about superficial issues, but too disconnected for deeper discussions.

SCORPIO MOONS are internally powerful and empathetic. They typically come from an environment that required searching for deeper clues. Trauma is deeply rooted in their psyche, but they don’t have become it. Rejects therapy ( although they often need it ) , because they don’t like the idea of another person getting in their head. If they talk to you about their pain, know that they’re trusting you with the deepest parts of themselves. If you fuck up that trust, they will never forgive you. Holds grudges like a motherfucker. They will remember everything that you have said and done to them. Has intricate revenge fantasies includes them lashing out at you, but deep down, they wish to contain their power and use it for a greater purpose. You could know this person for years before you realize that you don’t actually know anything about them. Takes themselves very seriously, and reacts negatively to any sort of criticism. Holds onto emotional pain for much longer than they should. But when they finally let go, it transforms them on a deep level. Highly equipped to deal with intense emotions. Uncomfortable if there’s too much peace, and goes out of their way to create chaos. Unfamiliar with peace. What’s stability ? Who is she ? The nurturing figure was secretive and intense. Either the two have a strong and healthy connection, where they can tell each other anything, or their mother is the root of all of their trauma. Tread lightly with this one.

SAGITTARIUS MOONS are internally fearless and philosophical. Everything in their life has a deeper meaning. Very optimistic because their glass is always half full. Treats each setback like a lesson. Builds a home inside themselves, so they never need more than just their bodies to feel safe. They have a mantra for pretty much everything, and feels that we were put on this earth for a reason. Either religious and invested in the higher power, or has their own definition of God. Emotionally nurtured by new experiences. Feeling sad? Travel to Greece! Feeling nervous? Travel to Cuba! Feeling happy? Travel to Japan! If they’re unable to physically escape, they will mentally fly to another world. The only thing that could really get them down is entrapment. Always down for a good time, because they know that their time on this earth is short. A Sagittarius moon that is forced to stay in one place for too long is a miserable one. Speaks their mind, no matter what anybody else thinks. Used to offending people with their no-filter way of speaking. Sometimes shoves their ideals down your throat and blows up if you don’t follow them. The nurturing figure was typically spiritual and foreign. This person could come from a different country, thus making the Sagittarius moon adaptable to different customs. They could also be highly religious and pass their spiritual learnings on.

CAPRICORN MOONS are internally mature and spiritual. Struggles with opening up, but they will always be there for you, whenever you need them. Feels like a loner who carries the weight of the world on their shoulders. These people are grounded in their own reality and believe that they have the power to control their destiny. Highly invested in their careers due to the security it offers. They place impossible standards on themselves, and then beat themselves up if they can’t deliver what they promised ( … to themselves ). Surprises others with by their highly spiritual nature, because they come across as “boring” or work obsessed. The person to call when you need a shoulder to cry on, but don’t expect them to say much in response. Acts like nothing bothers them and that’s the furthest thing from the truth. Puts too much responsibility on their plate and beats themselves up for not finishing it within a specific time period. Mastered the art of tough love, because it’s all that they know. Wants to provide for the people they care about. Doesn’t know how to let their hair down. The nurturing figure was often ambitious, but emotionally controlled. The Capricorn moon native could have felt like this parent’s career was more important than anything else. This placement is also found in the charts of people who have experienced intense trauma in relation to the mother (or lack thereof). Could also be closer to their father.

AQUARIUS MOONS are internally independent and unique. They march to the beat of their own drum and feel at home with their fellow weirdos. Probably watches conspiracy theory videos and sends them to like-minded people. They’re not the go-to if you’re feeling emotionally vulnerable, but they’ll try their hardest to support you regardless. Feels guilty if they have let you down. Your lifelong best friend. Community minded. Sacrifices themselves for the benefit of other people and doesn’t get enough credit for this. Will do whatever they can to uplift a group that has been pushed to the side. Picks up the forgotten members of society and adds them to their clan. Has specific causes that they support with their whole heart. Struggles with one on one intimacy, yet loving towards their community of friends. Jokes about being part alien to hide the pain of feeling like an outcast. Pushes their emotions away. They know that every person in this world is different, so they’re non-judgmental and open-minded as hell. Arrogant about their intelligence and assumes that they’re superior to everyone else. They will be offended if you remind them that they’re just like everybody else . Not much catches them off guard or shocks them anymore. The nurturing figure was mostly indifferent to the aquarius moon’s needs. Regardless if they’re conservative or progressive, this figure is stubborn about what they believe and refuses to admit when they’re wrong. Often unpredictable.
LOST IN MY BEDROOM • SKY FERREIRA. DAYDREAM BELIEVER • THE MONKEES.
PISCES MOONS are internally caring and kind. Feels the emotions of the room and assumes it’s their own. If they’re too invested in the lives of other people, then they will become drained and miserable. But if they’re cut off from this, they’ll feel disconnected and hurt. It will take them years to develop healthy boundaries because they care too much about people. Highly invested in healing and spreading their love. They will take on your struggles mend your broken spirit. Has a soft spot for the downtrodden and forgotten due to their empathy. But they need to be careful of this so they don’t get taken advantage of. No matter how many times they’ve been let down and manipulated, they maintain a love for humanity. A target for cruel, ill-intended people who seek to ruin their soul and drain their spirits. Might seem naive, but their soul has lived a thousand lives. Loves you for who you are as a person, not for what you look like or what you could give. Well aware that your spirit is the only thing left once everything else has faded away. Believes in karma and treating others how you want to be treated. The nurturing parent was most likely artistic and kind. They could have had a mental illness or addiction, thus giving the Pisces moon their empathy. Or they could have an been a savior for traumatized individuals. Either this person was a savior, or needed the Pisces moon to save them.
BTW, the high five was invented in 1977 which means your parents probably didn’t grow up with it.
For real though Glenn Burke, inventor of the high five was a gay black player in the 70s, and the Dodgers tried to get him to marry a beard and their manager got mad when he befriended the manager’s gay son before being traded to the Athletics, probably for being gay. In Oakland, the rumors of homosexuality followed him and manager Billy Martin started using homophobic slurs in the clubhouse and homophobic behavior from other players lead to an early retirement for the promising young star at 27. After retiring from baseball he introduced the high five to the Castro district of San Franscio where the high five became a symbol of gay pride and identification. ESPN wrote a long form piece about it which I recommend reading, it’s got some homophobic slurs in it although not presented positively.
A few appendices:
Although he was unceremoniously drummed out of Major League Baseball, Burke became the star shortstop for the local Gay Softball League, and even dominated in the Gay Softball World Series, as well as medaling in the 100 and 200 meter sprints in the inaugural 1982 Gay Games. Unfortunately, Burke also picked up a cocaine habit and had his leg and foot crushed in an accident. He spent much of his final years homeless in the Castro, and died from AIDS complications in 1995, but he was in the first class of inductees to the Gay and Lesbian Sports Hall of Fame, and his High School retired his jersey number.
The Dodgers Manager in question was Tony Lasorda, whose son “Spunky” died of AIDS complications in 1992 although Lasorda maintains that it was cancer. Likewise, despite the High Five becoming a symbol of the 1980 Dodgers team, Lasorda maintained and continues to this day to maintain to not know its origin. It’s possible that this isn’t a deliberate slight to Burke, but given his homophobia in other matters that’s a hard benefit of the doubt to give.
The Athletics have, in the years since, attempted to make up for some of the wrongs they committed in this story. When Glenn revealed publicly that he was living with AIDS, the As moved in and helped him financially. Burke was honored publicly at Pride Night at the park in 2015 and his brother was invited to throw the first pitch.
Burke was happy to see the high five catch on, spilling out of sports and into the small joys of every day life. He died believing that the high five was his legacy. Next time you high five your friend, remember that the high five came from Glenn Burke.
Happy Pride 2020, the High Five was invented by a Black gay man who was the first openly gay (to his teammates) player in MLB. Stand now with the black community and the black members of our own community against police brutality. If you’re a cop, resign.
