i went to an event where they had a showing of ”Slavery by Another Name” (we didn’t watch the whole thing though) and then afterwards there was a forum featuring three black professors and a motherfuckin Young Lord! let me tell yall, we were discussing the infrastructure of the prison system and how certain laws from the past like the pig laws, black codes, and fence laws were created so they could lock up black folk just so they could have steady workers instead of actually employing people and how that’s still happening today. we were also talikin about how white people would lie about a black person owing them money so that way they could enslave them, but you know they didn’t call it that…
why this white boy gon fix his mouth to say some shit like all of that needed to happen. that its apart of history and if it hadn’t then things wouldn’t be as progressive as they are today.
