Young Dreams - Fog of War

image

Norwegian orchestral pop collective Young Dreams have just released a video for their single “Fog of War.” Signed on the always reliable Modular Records, they released a remix EP for the track a couple of weeks ago that included remixes by Baio, Korallreven and Lemonade. Craving for more? Their debut album is penciled in for February 2013. Watch the gorgeous but disturbing video, directed by Kristoffer Borgli, below.

Dream Alone, Wake Together

Young Dreams

“Dream Alone, Wake Together” by Young Dreams // from the Dream Alone, Wake Together EP

How about a little wild, dreamy-folk-pop energy to start the day? Sounding at times like Yeasayer and at other times like Fleet Foxes (not direct sound-alikes, but similar vibes), these guys traffic in those folk-choir vocals with lush layered instrumentation. It feels lived in and well worn. Comforting and familiar, which is amazing considering this Norway based dream pop collective is fairly new on the set. It’s damn good stuff. After hearing the handful of songs on their Soundcloud page, I’m definitely intrigued to hear what’s in store for a full length.

why aren’t you listening to…

…Young Dreams (@youngdreamsband)?  The weekend is almost here and we’re feeling good, so we thought we would spread the love by sharing Young Dreams with you…because it is impossible not to be happy when you listen to this crew from Norway.  Young Dreams is making tropi-pop music that reminds us of a cross between The Beach Boys and ANR and we can almost feel the sand under our feet when they make an appearance on our headphones.  These guys are pretty new to the game, so they don’t have too much out in terms of releases, but you can grab their singles here.

I’ve been meaning to post about this Norwegian group for awhile now - so without further adieu I give you one of my faves ‘Fog Of War’.
