I didn’t wanna contribute to anymore of this bullshit, but it’s on my mind and I’m agitated. FUCKING LENA DUNHAM APOLOGISTS, EVERYWHERE, ON MY DASH, GETTING PAYCHECKS, SAYIN’ STUFF, ON THEIR BLOGS, EVERYWHERE. FUCKING LENA DUNHAM APOLOGISTS. It’s one thing to be a fan, or to enjoy her work, but it’s another thing entirely to defend her against “the haters,” as if people calling a racist scumbag by her name is some kinda cruel witch hunt.

Listen, we all like shit that’s problematic. We’ve been through this! Like, y’all, I’m a feminist and I’m getting a blink-182 tattoo on my butt. We all like shit that’s fucked up! And we have the right to! We have the right to like whatever we want, because Feminist Film is published in America and therefore obligated to uphold a rights discourse. Free speech in a free market means Lena Dunham gets big moneys to write for cable TV and Americans everywhere get to blog about it.

But if you’re spilling virtual ink to defend fucked up white people on the principle that too many people are criticizing them for racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, privilege, etc. then you are a fucking pig who can go to hell. No other words about it!

I’m starting to think boring white people with aspirations for fame have a lotta stake in this woman’s success ‘cause it gives them hope that they’ll succeed someday, too. Lena Dunham: instillin’ hope in the overprivileged mediocre since 2010.

In conclusion: Lena Dunham is the worst, if you have a problem with people criticizing her then it is because you wanna uphold white supremacy, ‘cause it’s not like girlfriend’s getting fired anytime soon, and nobody’s trynta take a way your goddamn HBO. STOP. ALL Y’ALL. STOP. IT.

After the last mention, we got a few messages and notes from people who were blessed to have missed the beef with Lena Dunham. After the cut, there are a few links to the best critiques and the worst offenses.

Good night, enjoy your cable tv. (I know I will.)

Alec Baldwin To Host 'Saturday Night Live' Season Premiere | Huffington Post

huffingtonpost.com

Coming off the heels of Lorne Michaels’ announcement that all current “Saturday Night Live” cast members will return for the 37th season, the “SNL” executive producer has also announced Alec Baldwin as the host of the upcoming season premiere, according to Bill Carter of The New York Times. The second episode of the season will be hosted by “Bridesmaids” scene-stealer (and Emmy nominee for “Mike and Molly”) Melissa McCarthy.

One of my biggest pet-peeves is when Hades is portrayed as a Judeo-Christian Satan figure because that was not how the Pantheon functioned and Hades role was entirely different from that of Lucifer. Hades was never sore about his position as lord of the underworld. He was pleased. Down there he actually had more power than his brothers (power being the number of subjects under him and how/when he was worshipped to). Certainly people were afraid of storms and the oceans but everyone dies and Hades was always there to collect.

Then comes the idea that Persephone was never happy when she had to live with Hades. Well here’s the thing about that, that’s how it was at the time. Young women were married off to older men to solve problems and earn favour and Zeus had no problem giving Persephone over to her uncle to keep him happy. The idea that Persephone wouldn’t be happy to stay in the underworld isn’t crazy, but it also negates the fact that Hades wasn’t a bad guy. He never hurt her and he let her stay with her mother for a few months out of the year, which was more than any other Greek woman would have gotten out of an arranged marriage deal.

So basically, stop portraying Hades as a bad guy, as a Satan or Lucifer, he’s not the fallen brother wanting vengeance and he’s not the creepy old man holding Persephone hostage. He’s actually a cool dude, less messed up than Zeus ever was.

something that bears repeating:

human beings are not infallible

human beings make mistakes

celebrities are human beings

making mistakes borne out of ignorance does not make you an inherently bad person

it makes you human

So, uh...

…hell of a day, huh?

That "oh shit!" moment when a coworker (who doesn't know about your tumblr) sends you something she found on tumblr

It was one of those somee card things, but holy close call, batman!

you guise, it’s not that Arizona isn’t grateful for everything Callie has done for her it’s just that Callie is ALWAYS playing victim.  That’s how her character is.  That’s almost why I found her whole relationship with George ironic because he loves to play victim too.  Remember that time he continued his unwanted advances on Meredith for two whole seasons and then when she finally slept with him in a moment of weakness, she cried, and he blamed her for hurting his feelings?  Asshole.

Callie has a heart of gold and her intentions are always good but she’s almost 100% awful at execution.  She was the poster-perfect wife.  She let Arizona have space, then she pushed her, she supported her, she waited to have sex, blah blah blah but whenever she was getting impatient, or frustrated, she’d bring up the damn leg, like it was HER problem.

wrong.

It’s Arizona’s problem.  It’s going to be her problem, FOREVER.  Callie arranged the awkward “survivor’s dinner” that nobody wanted to go to, she had her own stupid share in owning the hospital.  She pushed EVERYBODY to get over their trauma just to keep things going but it was incredibly inappropriate.

Arizona is sorry she cheated, she’s trying to apologize and make amends but Callie goes off on her own little self-pity rant and she brings up the plane crash like it’s HER trauma to get over but it’s not.  That was extremely insensitive and stupid to bring up but ever since the plane crash she’s been the one rolling around sobbing about it while the other survivors are just trying to move on.

Arizona is absolutely wrong for cheating, and obviously Callie made the right call cutting off her leg, but that doesn’t mean Callie was right in this argument.
