And all went black...
It had started out as a lovely day in Edoras. One which would not be complete without a ride on a horse. That was precisely what Eowyn intended to do. So, as soon as she could find a moment to herself, she dressed in her brown and green riding gown with gold embroidery, put on her care-worn leather boots, and went to saddle her large and mighty horse, Windfola.
The mare was happy to see her princess and was anxious to go for a ride. After packing some apples for horse and rider, as well as a pastry for herself, they were off onto the plains. On a sunny day such as this, even the woods looked inviting. After a few hours of riding, with the occasional stop at a stream for a drink, Eowyn found a new trail to wander.
Then, a fox darted across the path and spooked Windfola. After attempting to calm her horse, Eowyn was flung from and saddle and knocked unconscious from the fall. By the time Windfola had calmed, Eowyn’s world had gone black, and her horse hung her head low in shame near her owner, not knowing what to do, and not wanting to leave her.
