The types of people you will love.

i. You will love some people
because of how they look.
You will laugh
and swear it’s not true
but there will be someone
you love completely
because of the way his skin
covers his bones
or the way her eyes
reflect the light.

ii. You will love some people
because they kissed you on a day
you were feeling lonely.
Try not to spend too much time here.
It will not be worth it.

iii. You will love some people
because they are smarter than you
and all your life
you’ve wanted someone
to answer the hard questions.

for a moment
and never again.

because they are broken
and tearing down construction tape
makes you feel like a hero.
