So I am SUPER excited about The Hunger Games... But...
I get SO many emotions when I start thinking about what this is. This is a society that is forcing KIDS to fight to the death on national television for entertainment (and also as a control factor, but the ENTERTAINMENT!).
It pisses me off and terrifies me in profound ways, and I both love and envy Suzanne Collins’ ability to make me feel this way.
So I guess the but is actually that I’m not sure I can make it through the movie without sobbing/retching/cussing.
That is all.
Allrighty...2, 16, 23, 27, 31 :)
2: I hide my rebellious side from my mother. I also (and you’re Tumblr, so I feel I can share this and not feel judged) hide the side of me that is a little more…sexual, I guess?
16: It’s been a while since I’ve taken chemistry. Can I say neon? Because it’s bright and is a noble gas that doesn’t bond well with others.
23: What motivates me, mostly, is that I want to have stories to tell. Sometimes that gets me into trouble, but sometimes it means I do things I wouldn’t usually that turn out really well.
27: It’s a little adventure, but you can read it here. (I’m not self-promoting or anything…
31: My dream library! Wall-to-wall books, except for a window seat. Two levels (sort of), where there’s a landing one can climb to in order to get to more books and a spiral staircase leading down to my office. Probably the shelves and floors will be made of mahogany and there would be a giant chandelier and a fireplace. I need a database too.
OOH, OOH! I’m getting some quotes about books/stories for when I have my own library. They aren’t all fandom related, but if you’re running out and need some, let me know!
I would love it!
It’s an elementary school, so they have to be appropriate for that age, but I’d love it!
