Women for Women International

The Mission: Women for Women International provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies. We’re changing the world one woman at a time.

Women have incredible potential, yet endure the harshest oppression and poverty in the world. About 70% of the people living in absolute poverty are women.

Women for Women International has a sponsorship program where for $30 a month for one year you can help a women send her children to school, have regular access to clean water and food and provide start up funds to help a woman open a small business.

This Saturday, July 9, 2011, the Republic of South Sudan declares its independence and a new nation is born.

We at Women for Women International welcome the creation of this new republic as a victory for the women of South Sudan.  Why?  Because for the first time in Sudan’s history, women were able to add their votes and voices to the national debate over the future of their country.

To celebrate this victory with us, click here to send a Message of Support to the women of Sudan.  We will collect all the messages and send them straight to the field, so they know that we stand with them in their efforts to create a peaceful nation.
