Some Thoughts on the Comics I Read This Week
1. StormWatch (Stormwatch? Storm Watch?) A Finer World:
Nice. Decent writing, good characters, good plot lines, if a little rushed and underdeveloped. Scenes were well written, but they felt only like a bunch of scenes, strung together, with no real sense of flow or continuity. Loved Midnighter, like I suspected I might. He was the only reason I bought it. Apollo was fun, too, and their banter together…. adorable!
The art was solid, for a Nineties book, but I don’t think it aged particularly well. But hey, who doesn’t like some ridiculous manly, anatomically impossible hunks of muscle every now and then? Good enough I’d be willing to check out more in this universe, though it’s not at the top of my list.
