Dean, Dean, Dean. You assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint - it’s more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly… time-y wimey… stuff.

ahahaha that is totally not what I meant! I just don't know anything about superhero movies - I engage the same questions as you, in a very different way. I take exception to "#looking around and saying wait a second maybe this progression wasn't really so natural as we've made it seem???" because the progression is always natural when you start looking at what leads into what. what makes the captain america dealie interesting is that all the undermining of the wwii image is gone!
LIKE and I agree because we definitely did make the natural progression from our World War II selves to our postwar selves, especially in the case of like Korea and Vietnam? But I also think that that progression was based on a series of very deliberately made decisions that, for someone who slept through most of the causes and is only now being confronted with so many of the effects all at once, it may seem less natural after all??? Jumping so very abruptly from a to q, etc.
