Another clap of thunder and another small whimper. Kris turned onto his side, back facing the wall, and pulled the blanket over his shoulders. A bright white light flashed behind his eyelids and a clap of thunder rang soon after. He groaned at the bothersome noise and rolled over, creaky bed under him covering yet another whimper.
Eventually Kris managed to lightly doze off and didn’t notice his roommate’s bed screech under the shifted weight. He didn’t notice quiet shuffles as his roommate moved across the floor. He didn’t notice a small weight on the side of his bed. He did however notice a pair of small fragile arms wrap around his waist, cold hands touching the bare skin where his shirt had rode up.
Before he could open his eyes a loud crackle cause the new occupant to whimper and the arms around him tightened. His eyes shot open when he realized why his roommate was in his bed. Thunder storms. Chen is terrified of thunder, a fact he learned in their first week of sharing a room.
“D-duizhang…” Chen’s small voice tugged at Kris’ heart.
Kris turned a bit so that he could face the smaller man and put his warm arms around Chen’s cold frame.
“Chen…I’m so sorry I forgot…I just-” Kris was cut short when Chen rubbed his ice cold nose on his exposed neck.
“Duizhang…” Chen whined again, snuggling closer to the radiating heat that was Kris.
“Chen, why are you so cold?” Kris shivered as more and more of his burning skin came into contact with Chen’s unbelievably freezing skin.
He felt Chen shrug and pulled the small figure closer. He rubbed his nose in Chen’s raven soft hair inhaling the subtle sent of the others shampoo. He could feel Chen wrap one of his legs around his, doing he best to get comfortable. Kris rubbed small circles around Chen’s back trying to calm the others frayed nerves.
After who knows how long Kris could hear the small snores coming from an equally small head barely peeping out from the covers. Kris had to smile at the image. He couldn’t resist a small kiss on the top of Chen’s forehead and soon followed him into sleep.
I won’t disagree. Oh god.. I can only imagine what he will be like when he’s older. “What are you doing?” “Just trying to see if they’re real.” The cashier then proceeded to smack Damian with a bag of flour.
