The absolute need to be anything but just ‘white’ has settlers looking for minority status everywhere it seems. I just wanted to say that I am a white girl with dreads, and I dreaded my hair because I love the hair style, it had nothing to do with being edgy. Ever since I was little I thought dreads were gorgeous. I didn't look at black girls and think they were dirty or unkempt. It was my respect for women with dreads that inspired me to dread my own hair.
I really don’t give a shit either way about YOUR “dreads” because you’re not important to me. You are not a relevant part of my life. Your words do not matter to me. Got it? White people need to learn how to let PoC fume in peace without inserting their holy fucking white opinions, damn.
YOU’RE BASICALLY TELLING ME THAT YOU DON’T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO DO SEE ME THAT WAY AND HOW HARMFUL THAT VIEWPOINT IS.

god even NPR is talking about how Argo "captures how CRAZY those times were" and interviewed some guy who even said they over exaggerated many of the scenes but it was still "entertaining" and that it was one of the top five movies of the year UGH
