Eye for an Eye

“and i don’t feel like screamin’, so i’m gonna sing…”
With all of Eisley’s new album merch (CDs, vinyl, lithographs, posters, and more!) arriving in the office this past week, the upcoming release finally feels so close and so real. I remember, even before I started working here at EVR, stopping in the office one day and hearing that a couple of the staff was heading down to a small city in Texas. They couldn’t tell me where at the time because “it would give it away!” but hearing how excited they were for that trip made me just as excited for them. Flash forward to when I officially joined the team this summer and heard who the trip was for and I was blown away. EISLEY?! I COULD BE WORKING WITH EISLEY?! From the official signing, to my first time seeing them perform, to the day I held their new album in my hands - the excitement has only grown stronger with each month that has passed and with each step of the partnership moving forward.
On Wednesday we drove to Cambridge, MA for their show at Middle East with Rooney AND to bring the band their new album (CDs and vinyl)! It honestly couldn’t have been a more perfect day. Before the show, we met up with Eisley at Emerson College’s radio station, WERS 88.9 FM, where they recorded a short acoustic set and interview. The feature will be airing in early March, I’ll be sure to post a link here when it’s live! Photos from the band’s acoustic performance are queued up, so keep an eye on your dashboards for all of them tonight. Next week I’ll also be posting photos from the rest of the day, including Eisley’s performance that night and their reactions to seeing the album for the first time.
Spending time with the Eisley crew this week and being one of the one’s to hand deliver the album to them has been one of my favorite experiences of working here so far. They’ve been through so much and just seeing the look of relief, joy, and disbelief that everything was finally coming to fruition was truly incredible. I cannot wait for everyone to hear this album in its entirety!
All pre-orders for The Valley are now up on MerchNOW, iTunes, and Amazon. If you missed out on the mega bundle pre-order on MerchNOW with the signed and numbered lithographs…we put up a new bundle with (a less exclusive, non-signed or numbered) lithograph. They’re going fast though and there are less than 100 left, so pick one up as soon as possible!
That’s all for now. I hope you all enjoy the photos following this post!
MY RADIO SHOW
I host a radio show called The Left End on WERS, I post about it a lot though so I’m sure you’re aware by now. Usually I switch off doing it every week with my co-host but for the next month or so he is taking a break so the show is all mine. I’m gonna be on air this coming morning at 12am to 3am playing music ranging from Jawbreaker, Yuck, My Bloody Valentine, The Boston Strangler, American Football, Yo La Tengo, William Bonney, Sleater Kinney, etc so you should listen in! There will be some in studio performances coming up and some other really exciting stuff. If you want to hear me blab about music for a while, listen to 889 (if you’re in the boston area) or stream it online at wers.org later. Requests are always welcome!
