Fedor Emelianenko demolished the PRIDE Heavyweight Division for 10 years. He is easily one of the greatest fighters of all time… If you look at who he beat in his prime, you will see that Fedor isn’t some chump: Big Nog x3, Mirko Cro Cop, Andrei Arlovski, Arona, Babalu, Semmy Schilt. At one point, he was the world’s p4p king.
Fedor’s biggest weakness is not getting with the times. MMA has changed and evolved so much since the days of Pride - it’s becoming a style all it’s own. Sambo is one piece of the puzzle, but Fedor also needs to train with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts, like Fabricio Werdum, or the likes of Josh Barnett, Erik Paulson, and CSW. Old School Russian training isn’t cutting it anymore in top level MMA.
I hope Fedor learned from his mistakes, because this Sunday, he is fighting Jeff Monson. A fourth loss in a row will be the career killer… A come-back victory might respark his career. We’ll find out.

Thoughts: Strikeforce - Overeem v. Werdum
I’ma break it down by fight…
JZ/Wilcox - :( I want a rematch ASAP. This should be on the main card too.
Griggs/Overeem - :( I picked Overeem. All I could do is yell at the TV.
Cormier/Monson -:) Happy my boy won and that he got some cage experience.
Masvidal/Noons - :) Had Masvidal all day. I’m not sure how he does though against talent like Melendez or say Miller or Maynard or Edgar.
Barnett/Rogers - :) Babyface made this look easy. Well, it was easy. Brett who?
Overeem/Werdum - :) :( Happy and Mad…Happy cause my boy won this, but damn…he gave his critics a ton of ammunition. Werdum got brought back down of his cloud though…and in the end, that’s all that matters. The worst part is that this fight is going to majorly fuc with the rankings.
