We Used to be Friends

The Dandy Warhols

Musical Spotlight: Song of the Day, 2 of 13

This is We Used to be Friends, by The Dandy Warhols and off of their album Welcome to the Monkey House, released in 2003.

I first came across this song several years ago when the [under-appreciated] show O’Grady was on television during 2004-06. Recently, I got the show on my computer BECAUSE IT’S AWESOME. This song plays during the very first episode, Clones. Though the song only plays for twenty seconds or so, I liked that bit of it enough to look for the entire song. Lo and behold, I enjoyed it.

I’ve yet to look into anything else they’ve ever released [including the rest of this very album], save for the Daytrotter Session that they did last year. So I’m not sure whether I’d like it or not. Someday maybe I’ll see.

Plan A - The Dandy Warhols

All of us, all of us sing about it.
All of us, sing about it.

There must be some kind of message
Simple plot somehow impressive.
Anyone who can think of something
Come on now, just express it.

A long time ago, we used to be friends, but I haven’t thought of you lately at all. If ever again, a greeting I send to you, short and sweet to the soul I intend.
