Why do I always end up getting the shittiest Tech support agents?

  • Asus: What's wrong with the router?
  • eMad: The 5ghz band stopped working and the 2.4ghz band frequently loses connectivity and constantly drops to under 10mbps despite being in the same room. The issue occurs across 6 devices, two of which are using Asus dual band network cards…
  • Asus: Does your internet support 5ghz?
  • eMad: What?
  • Asus: Does your internet support 5ghz?
  • eMad: That makes no sense… 5ghz is a wireless spectrum bound to the router. My ISP should have nothing to do with the 5ghz…
  • Asus: Does your internet support 5ghz?
  • eMad: …The 5ghz SSID is not detectable by ANY of my devices - that's a router issue. Not an internet issue. To make it worse, the 2.4ghz SSID is constantly dropping signal as well. That's also a router issue… Have you looked at the case notes at all?
  • Asus: Okay…
  • eMad: …so… can you ship me a replacement router now so I don't have to go through a month-long wait without a router?
  • Asus: No
  • eMad: So what you're saying is that you expect me to buy a new router while I wait for mine to ship to you and then you to send me a replacement.
  • Asus: No
  • eMad: Can you explain how I can access the internet during that 2-6 week replacement window?
  • Asus: No
  • eMad: Can I drop it off at the warehouse? It's like 30km from where I live…
  • Asus: Let me look into that
  • Asus: [5 minutes of silence and random clicking]
  • eMad: Well?
  • Asus: I'm waiting for you to confirm if you got my email
  • eMad: What? Why didn't you say something? Okay
  • eMad: Yes… it's the same email I got last week. It's a mailing address…
  • eMad: do you have a phone number to reach the warehouse at?
  • Asus: no
  • eMad: do you know if they'll take my router in person?
  • Asus: yes
  • eMad: will they?
  • Asus: Maybe
  • eMad: what are their business hours?
  • Asus: Just don't show up at like 7pm on a weekday. Maybe like 3pm
  • eMad: But what are their hours?
  • Asus: dunno
  • eMad: do you have a phone number to reach them?
  • Asus: no
  • eMad: So how can I go down there if I don't know whether they're open?
  • Asus: Yes
  • eMad: Do you understand that you have been equipped with absolutely NOTHING you need in order to do your job effectively?
  • Asus: Okay…

YAY!

My laptop is alive again according to the email I got! Plus they managed to save all the data! :) So, now I have to survive the rest of my working day, get Charlie and take a trip to the other part of the town…

Having gotten my new otterbox in today, and being a little more excited about it and I probably should be, I just want to take a moment to praise otterbox and their warranty that allowed me to get a replacement. Though I couldn’t get green and white again, I’m just as happy with my new otterbox, as it is an improved design and a better fit.

My virginity came with an extended lifetime warranty and a complimentary rack of braces. I denied a bag with my purchase ‘cause I wouldn’t need a condom. My personal thoughts in writing are the receipt.

Life's Ultimate Safe Lock

The analogy for what we’re about to discover is endless.

  • Safe lock
  • Insurance
  • Guarantee
  • Warranty
  • Protection
  • Coverage

And on could go the list.

There was something that the Bible characters understood that we often fail to grasp.

I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.  (2 Tim. 1:12)

Paul was finally convinced.

After all the beatings, countless near-death experiences - he was finally convinced.  Convinced of what exactly?

That God guards what we trust Him with.

What do you trust God with?

  • Your money?
  • Your career?
  • Your family?
  • Your future?
  • Your life?

All that which we think is ours - isn’t ours to begin with.  But moving past that - when we trust God with all that He has entrusted us with  - God guards it!

With His omnipotence and His dear life.

When you commit to God your career, your girlfriend, and your saving’s account - God will guard them.

And what God decides to guard - no one can take away.

From our vantage point - it appears as though apostle Paul has lost many things.  His reputation, his health, his safety, his wealth, his career as one of the most promising disciples of Gamaliel, and his  opportunity to enter into Sanhedrin - the highest Jewish Councils in his day.

But at the end of his life.  Paul was convinced.  In fact, he knew that he had lost nothing.

Instead he had gained all things through Christ to whom he had entrusted all things!

Again, what do you trust God with?

Remember - everything you do not trust God with you’ll lose eventually.
