Nintendo To Reveal New Console At E3

image

Game Informer revealed today that they have confirmed from multiple sources that Nintendo will be revealing a new console to directly compete with the XBOX360 and PS3 by Electronic Entertainment Expo. Game Informer states that these sources have confirmed the new system will be HD capable, however they vary on it being more or less powerful than the current gen systems.

Game Informer goes on to state in the article that Nintendo has already been showing the new system to developers to gain interest in the console, and this is a major departure from the launch of the Wii, which blindsided most western developers when it was announced.  Earlier comments from Nintendo were focused on changing relationships with 3rd party developers and this could be a sign they are making good on those comments.

One source is quoted in the article as saying “Nintendo is doing this one right, [It’s] not a gimmick like the Wii.” Making it sound like Nintendo may very well be stepping back from the emphasis on motion controls, though at this point everything besides it being HD is speculation.

With Wii sales tapering off, Nintendo is picking what is probably the most obvious time to jump to the next generation. Unfortunately, this generational jump is only landing them in the current consoles generation, meaning when the next jump happens they will be left behind once again.

E3 is coming June 7, so if the lid has already been lifted on this system I would expect a lot more information to leak between now and then.

Tour de force

I have wrestled with the order to layout this post for all of 15 seconds now and I think chronological just let’s me stop thinking the soonest so here it goes…

The Waggle

This morning was a boring morning. I woke up, did work, typed notes, read read and read some more. Then with plenty of time to spare I got my things together and decided to make my way to school. We all have a method I am sure, a method like a golfer’s waggle. A sort of physical routine that accompanies a simple mental checklist where before we leave the house we make sure we have the basic, usual, everyday stuff.

Mine is a simple waggle, that involves patting of specific pockets and areas expecting to hear certain sounds and feel certain items. The three basic items, in the order they are occur, are:

  1. A pat of the back pockets to be sure there’s a wallet in there,
  2. A resting of my hands on my jacket pockets, then pant pockets to feel for the presence of my cell phone (I still use a BB Curve, so I know when it’s there.),
  3. And then a gentle pat of my pant pockets and then up to jacket pockets, to listen for the sound of my keys.

It’s a simple system but it works. In fact it worked so well, it alerted me that I did not have my keys when I was ready to leave this morning. So one mini-heart, attack, a total turning upside down of my relatively clean apartment, a complete emptying of my soccer bag, a complete emptying of my gym bag, a complete emptying of my backpack, and then finally a collapse in despair as I realize I was about to be late (or miss) my second day of CivPro cause I misplaced my gosh darn keys! Then to calm my anxiety and trying to unravel some of the stress before I had an actual heart attack I pulled my desk wastebasket over to the mess I had now caused on the floor…

What’s that jingle?! by jareyes

…are you friggin kidding me?! Some how I had managed to knock my keys into my wastebasket, and never thought to upend it in my search for my keys. Alls well that ends well and all that, I made it to CivPro on time.

Blah, blah, blah… I know it’s the second day and I am already over it.

Torts

But today was the first day of torts. I write this next paragraph, because the woman earned it. I know, some readers are going to make assumptions as to my sexual orientation as a result of this, and I couldn’t care less. I am who I am, and my sexual preference is my own and not the subject of this blawg. But I would suggest that you don’t read more into this than what it says.

Our Torts professor’s out was so cute today! It was completely professional, and a look that would work on a lawyer or powerful business woman. But at the same time it was totally law school chic. I wish you could have seen her shoes, they were awesome. I should have taken a picture, but I am a man with limits. I’ll say things are cute but it’s gonna end right about there.

I adored her look. I hope when all the awesome female lawyers in my class go out and become awesome lawyers they are all great at torts, but also I hope they are all as great at looking fabulous as our torts professor!

Library Tour

Who would have thought that a law library tour could be so much fun?! I guess that’s what happens when you’re touring it with good people.

I will say I was a little intimidated by the books, they just look so official and, well, legal. It’s also cool to know that one day that library and all those odd legal books will be tools which I have mastered. Tools which I will use to create weapons. One day, I will be able to get on that 3rd floor balcony and lean against it, like this…

… And then I will yell, “I AM KING OF THE LAW LIBRARY!!!!!!!!”

Playing Skyward Sword

The Wii in no way requires me to swing this violently nor does it encourage it, but I absolutely refuse to sword fight with small wrist flicks. Already hit my ceiling fan once. Everything better get out of my way.
