Sherlock Holmes

Lu ki’snem-tor du ritor-yehat - fan-vel ta hafau - vah rikesik vah lau-nam-tor - vun-nam-tor yeht’es.

“When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth”

“When have’eliminate you impossible - anything that remain - as unlikely as may-be - must-be truth.”

Vulcan Sunshine

“You Are My Sunshine,” in Vulcan and Standard

Tu yel-min t’nash-veh
t’Nash-veh goh yel-min
Tor du nash-veh kunli
Lu igen zhai-kur
Ri dungi fai-tor du
Uf mau ashau n’du
Sanu - ri nem-tor n’yel-min t’nash-veh

My friend Kap (t0b0ldlyg0) translated this song a while back, and I greatly wanted to sing it. :) I finally got around to recording it.

Apologies for the background noise… there’s an almost-constant rushing noise in my dorm room. -_-; Also, I’ve never studied Vulcan language before, so sorry if I’ve pronounced anything incorrectly!

Anyway, Dif-tor heh smusma, y’all~!

Illogical

Vesht dungi nam-tor ish maut riolozhikaik.

That would be highly illogical.

“Past will be that very illogical”

“Nam-tor u'sha'yut -- tanaf heh ek'tal teretuhr. Ri utvau is-lof ri nam-tor vah vaksurik - tor vak'es k'kla-min tsuri weh-yeht-dau.”

Spock (from “Spock’s World”)

Translation: “It is our way - Art and Science combined. There is no reason that function should not be beautiful - in fact, beauty makes it more effective.”

So I translated "You Are My Sunshine" into Vulcan and I'm not sorry

Tu yel-min t’nash-veh
t’Nash-veh goh yel-min
Tor du nash-veh kunli
Lu igen zhai-kur
Ri dungi fai-tor du
Uf mau ashau n’du
Sanu - ri nem-tor n’yel-min t’nash-veh

And yes this is checked and corrected by T’Puhku who helps run the Vulcan Language blog.

A few of my friends have/want to sing this so LINK ME UP IF YOU DO LOVES~

Want to learn Vulcan?

Learn it with me!

Tonk’peh! My name is T’Sol. I’m currently undergoing the process of learning the Vulcan language. It’s a foregone conclusion that not many can speak/understand Vulcan and those that wish to may find it to be a tedious process. There are a few sites and blogs out there that help a lot with questions, but nothing I have found that really goes through the whole process step by step.

This is where my blog comes in. As a student in the language myself, I will post what I learn in weekly (and sometimes monthly) lessons that I go through in my Vulcan language book, including things on culture and other stuff. We can go through it together. If I can learn to do it, you can learn to do it. Sochya eh dif.. :)

Does anyone speak Vulcan or have a basic knowledge of the language?

Please, I wanna learn but it’s a bit hard teaching yourself. Some help would be wonderful. I just wanna know what the accent should resemble.

QUESTION

Is there any place I can find a book or program on how to learn Vulcan? Kk, Momma, and I would like to learn it, just to mess with people when out in public. Plus it would be fun. Also because just “Dif-tor heh smusma” isn’t enough.

k’hat’n’dlawa (people); half of each other’s heart and soul

(one who is ‘half of my heart and soul in its deepest sense; became unfashionable after Reformation because of its emotional connotation (anc.))
