Took these photos from my iPhone while working on it and after finishing my first plate for VT. I just wanted to share this plate, so that those who were asking about my course would somehow have a clue of what we do in one of our subjects (this subject is VisualTech).
Colored pencils were used. Now we’re done with colored pencils, we will now deal with watercolor for our next plate. We will still have a variety of more presentation techniques for vt class (such as acrylic, poster paint, airbrush, etc). That just means there are more plates coming up. Oh well. I’m so excited to tackle airbrush, though I still don’t know when we will take that up this semester.

Our third VT plate is “Architecture Photography”. The task was to take a photograph of an architectural detail or structure within the premises of UST.
I had a hard time choosing a photo that I would pass as my plate, so I had a manual voting with my teammates. The photograph that I would pass was entitled “UST’s Historic Line of Detail”
They love the architectural details of the photo and how unusual the photograph was shot. They like how you can see the flow of the vertical straight line and geometric figures of the main building running into different directions. They didn’t even expect that it was the main building. So I guess I’ll agree with them that I should pass this on Friday.

Fourth plate: Kurecolor. Excited to learn how to use those. Yay!
New Marching Staff....
And one of them is a Cadet ;)
After DCI 2012 ended and all the “marching Gods” came home, my high school was very honored to receive 2 new visual coaches. One who marched last year for 2011 and one who just came home on Sunday!
Our new head visual tech is Danielle Ayler. She marched BDB 2011 (french horn). And her boyfriend, Efren Gutierrez who marched BDB ‘08, ‘09, ‘10, Bluecoats 2011 and Cadets 2012 (tenor drums) is an assistant visual tech like me. They also performed together in Pulse 2011 and 2012 for WGI.
I can’t explain how excited and honored I am to be working with not one, but TWO DCI experienced marchers.
Other than drama that is already brewing, having both of them together this season helping out the band is going to be one freaking amazing (yet interesting) season!
Our first show is at Fresno State on October 6th! I promise I will keep you all marching band fans posted on our progress. Especially since we start zero period and Monday night practices this coming Monday!
