International Center of Photography: July 2012

Although I have had the pleasure of visiting the International Center of Photography in the past, I was lucky enough to be given a tour organized by a fellow colleague and intern from Ryerson’s Photographic Preservation and Collections Management program, Robin O’Dell.  Robin has been working on ICP’s Vishniac Archive Project during her summer internship and provided some very knowledgeable historical context to assist us in our tour. We were fortunate enough to be given a tour of the archive and conservation labs by curatorial assistant Rachel Travis, who unfortunately will be leaving ICP. But the good news is that we were accompanied by Susan Carlson who has now taken her position. Both young ladies were very accommodating and supportive about any questions we had pertaining to the archive and institution. The Vishniac Archive Project is an initiative in conjunction with the Vishniac Retrospective exhibition opening at ICP in 2013.
