Original publisher of Les Mis having "the feels"
From Albert Lacroix to Victor Hugo, 1862
I read, I read everything, I devoured your immense work, I have seen its crowing. I cried. I was reading out loud to my associates and, twenty, thirty times, suffocated by emotion, my voice broken, believing I was witnessing the agony of a loved one, I had to stop, to interrupt my reading, and my associates as well could not contain any further their feelings which brought them to tears. Poor Jean Valjean!
