I'M TOTALLY HAVING A MOMENT
i can’t even decide what’s better right now…that my ship won the after elton tournament or that it even existed in the firstplace! i mean LOOK HOW MUCH VALIDATION SLASH FANDOM GOT FROM THAT ENTIRE EXPERIENCE! afterelton wants weekly columns on its site now about general slash fandom! they created an entire message board for us to play in! come on, this is AMAZING!
i’ve been in fandom for 10 years…. this is the first time i feel like m/m fandom is being explored, embraced, researched, and acknowledged by people completely outside the fandom experience IN A GOOD WAY. usually when the fourth wall comes crashing and outsiders are paying attention to us, it always feels kinda demeaning, like the creators of our shows/movies/the musicians/actors we like etc all look down on the fans who get involved in fandom. BUT NOT TODAY!!! it’s just a beautiful moment for fandom in general, i think :”)))) i’m so happy.
and i’ll leave this (unfortunately) needed note here to my fellow sterek shippers: 98% of you are being super good times about this, but for the 2% being dipshit gloating assholes CAN WE PLEASE NOT?! respect other ships. don’t shit on someone else’s happy place. you wouldn’t like it if someone turned our sterek tag into a negative zone, so don’t do it to someone else, please :3 destiel shippers, it was amazing to even be in the same bracket as your ship! ty for the fun, and apologizes for the few fans who are being rude.

Don’t forget Vh1 and Barack Obama are BFFs over their Darren Criss gif war in which Vh1 won with the Stephen Colbert level shipping of American and Darren Criss….which I’m guess is their OTP…behind Barack and Michelle.

(cont'd) the comment about Sterek winning wasn't because I dislike the pairing. It's because I feel like after the way that AE, MTV and others have treated that it would be pretty gross for it to win. Like these people have exploited Sterek so much and for them to win would just be proving that to them.

but basically Destiel has had plenty of the same jokes thrown at it by the cast. Sera and others have been downright exasperated explaining how str8 Dean supposedly is. Jensen thinks gay guys are “unmanly.” Misha is a human troll. They’ve exploited AND spit in the fans’ faces. Frankly, I prefer the harmless, somewhat entertaining antics of Vhelton/Hobrien/assorted TW cast pimping the poll to the JESUS, U GUISE ARE FREAKY WEIRDOS reaction I’ve seen from the SPN cast/crew. If exploited fandoms don’t deserve to/shouldn’t win, Destiel shouldn’t be on that poll either.

Congrats to all Sterek fans! WE did it! It was hard and in moments stressful, but Sterek won the AfterElton Tourney and we can now celebrate.
And congrats to all Destiel fans! It’s been a great round and if Sterek ever had a big brother it would be Destiel. You guise showed us what commitment and passion should look like. As far as I’m concerned all slashers are winners in this awesome, awesome Tourney!
Also, isn’t Vhelton like the best thing ever? And check this out: Vhelton is on the fandom wiki, forever a part of fandom history! (Though there are only three entries in the Teen Wolf category, we should totally fix that!)
