You know what amazes me about some people. It is how they are unable to understand a character who they are to the core. This has nothing to do with stanning or blindly worshiping a character. Don’t even come by me with that because I’ll throw it right back in your face. This is about just simply understanding the essence of a character. Let me explain something. If Damon Salvatore wants to do something he would do it and nothing and no one can stop him be sure to know. Again if Damon wanted to do anything to Elena he would have done so by now. Ask yourself why he hasn’t before you make certain assumptions.

 Damon is not selfish. He can display selfish traits from time to time. Everyone does that, it is natural. But don’t say he is selfish when it comes to Elena. He is not. A selfish person does not constantly save the life of the person they love. A selfish person does not constantly risk their own life to protect the person they love.  You know why because that person they love would still be alive and they would be dead. Where is the logic and reasoning in making such assumptions? There isn’t any. Please just think before you make certain comments. 

Last but not least Damon is not emotionally manipulating Elena. She has feelings for him. If you have not picked up on that by now you are not paying attention. The writers have said Elena has feelings for Damon. You know the same people who actually write the show. These same writers have said on numerous occasions that Elena denies her feelings for Damon because she is too scared to acknowledge them. What some people see as Elena being physically afraid of Damon. It is not fear in the physical sense. It is fear in the emotional sense. She is afraid of her feelings for him. There is a difference. Please note the difference.  Now everyone has different preferences in ships. Different ships/pairings appeal to different people. Just respect the fact that some likes a different pairing or character from you and let it be. #Respect
