So, after some consultation with my wife (read: “you named your beer what?!?”), I came to the conclusion that Floodwater Brown is perhaps not the best name for a beer.
To that end, the beer (currently in secondary) shall henceforth be known as This Is Vermont Strong Brown.
Man. I can’t wait until it’s bottled and ready to go.
Rest easy, Carly.
Sometimes I am so proud to be from Rutland. It might not be the best place to live, but when tragedy strikes, we sure can pull together. We lost one of our best last night. Carly Ferro, age 17, died in a tragic car accident. She was friend of mine and of many others. She will missed but never forgotten. Love you girl, rest easy.

sorta ticked off about how much coverage Sandy is getting. hey everybody remember Vermont got raped by a hurricane? does that not even matter? was it not important?
It’s weird cause I know what it’s like to survive a hurricane in a place that shouldn’t get fucking hurricanes.
but seriously no one gives a shit about what Donald Trump has to say about it or that such and such is the only tv studio that hasn’t closed. that shit doesn’t matter.
maybe it’s just cause I actually am connected to society this time I can see what the media has to say about Sandy, unlike Irene, but still. I hate that just because people that live in a rural area have their houses wash away in a flood it’s less important than when people in NY and NJ have their houses wash away in a flood. Just cause everything is paved there. jesus christ.
Rebuild Waterbury
This past August, the state of Vermont was shaken by Hurricane Irene. Days before the hurricane drenched the state, nobody predicted the wreckage it would leave behind; nobody knew that Vermont was about to experience the worst flooding that state has seen in 83 years.
When the waters receded, the central portion of the state was left absolutely devastated, and the residents needed and continue to need our help, support, and donations. Heritage Automotive Group and Mount Mansfield Media teamed up to create a video explaining the effects of Irene in hopes of raising money for Rebuild Waterbury, a nonprofit created to assist residents of Waterbury and its surrounding areas.
It is with the debut of this video that Heritage Automotive Group is proud to announce that we will match every donated dollar to Rebuild Waterbury, up to $10,000. It is these hard times that it makes us all so very proud and happy to be Vermonters; we are Vermont Strong.
