Cafe Allegro

January 23, 2011- I went here with a few of my friends to get some studying done on a Sunday afternoon. Their coffee mugs are the coolest. This place is a little hidden on Ave near the UW, but it’s a great study spot- lots of seating. The upper room is really quiet and a good place to get things done. Coffee’s great! I haven’t been here on a Friday night yet, but I hear they have great live music :)

I love Korean food. I’m Korean food and I’m quite critical of it, but I’m so thankful to have Tofu House right around the corner. This place gets it right with it’s Korean food—none of this watered down shit that they try to do at teriyaki places or at Green House Korean Restaurant. Tofu House is as authentic as you’re going to get for not being in Federal Way. It’s great. I’m a huge fan of the Kimchee Hot Tofu Soup with Beef as of late, but what I normally do is get the Beebimbap Hot Pot with another soup dish on the side (Rice cake and dumpling soup is delish). This place is where Asians go to get Asian food so you know it’s good. Try it and let me know what you think.
**PS you will not get “great” service… this isn’t a white establishment where they are trying to kiss your ass for tips. They will give you waters and won’t come back till your food is ready.
