regarding the whole SHERLOCK SCRIPT thing

This is a heads up for anyone who has got a hold of part of the script for Series 3, anyone who is planning on getting a hold of said script, anyone who is posting bits from the script online or anyone who is possibly trying to sell said script bits:

There is definitely a huge element of illegality here and having observed recent events, I think it is important that following statement by Hartswood is shared with you:

‘The script for Sherlock is covered under the UK Data Protection Act 1998 (x) and Hartswood Films Ltd own the copyright for the script, so if someone sells the document or even publishes it online without written permission, they will be in breach of the act and this can lead to claims for financial compensation.’

If this does not convince you of the level of legal danger there is with this situation for anyone posting the actual script, etc, then I don’t know what will.

Furthermore I’d like to point out that they go to great lengths, explaining it more detailed on their homepage under “Legal” and “Data Protection Policy”. (including the policy for their employees and third party sharing(!!!))
