I want to know more about Winona, too. I wonder how much of "fanon" is true - was she always absent in his life? If she was off planet all the time, was it because she couldn't bear to look at a little boy who had George's eyes? Was she a brilliant Starfleet engineer who was as in love with her job as Jim would come to be with his? Did George dying scar her forever? Why did she marry Frank if he was an abusive asshole; did she even know if he was? What was she doing when she heard her son saved their planet? Did she look at him, a Starfleet captain in his gold uniform, and cry for fear he'd end up just like his father? These are the things I want to know, mostly because I believe they shaped this "new" Kirk so much and yet WE DON'T KNOW ANY OF IT.
