Gentlemen. This is what rape culture is like:
Imagine you have a Rolex watch. Nice fancy Rolex, you bought it because you like the way it looks and you wanted to treat yourself. And then you get beaten and mugged and your Rolex is stolen. So you go to the police. Only, instead of investigating the crime, the police want to know why you were wearing a Rolex instead of a regular watch. Have you ever given a Rolex to anyone else? Is it possible you wanted to be mugged? Why didn’t you wear long sleeves to cover up the Rolex if you didn’t want to be mugged?
And then after that, everywhere you go, there are constant jokes about stealing your Rolex. People you don’t even know whistle at your Rolex and make jokes about cutting your hand off to get it. The media doesn’t help either; it portrays people who wear Rolexes as flamboyant assholes who secretly just want someone to come along and take that Rolex off their hands. When damn, all you wanted was to wear a nice watch without getting harassed for it. When you complain that you are starting to feel unsafe, people laugh you off and say that you are too uptight. Never mind you got violently attacked for the crime of wearing a friggin time piece.
Imagining all that? It sucks, doesn’t it.
Now imagine you could never take the Rolex off.

There is a HEINOUS gang rape crime trying it’s damndest to stay covered up, but no more. Anonymous is on the case, bringing this disgusting act of violence to the attention of CNN and the Huffington Post. HOWEVER, these news outlets are still missing/withholding crucial parts of this investigation! I’ve seen tumblr do some amazing things, and this NEEDS to be brought to light! Please take a few seconds to become aware and SPREAD THE WORD. TO AS MANY PEOPLE POSSIBLE. There should be a public outrage over this! I want it on the news, like actual fucking TV, I want feds taking over the investigation from these corrupt assholes, I want people coming up to me and talking about it, I want this to be as big as fucking Kony or Amanda Todd. But most importantly, I want this poor girl, whoever she is, to know that she is loved and so many are on her side fighting for her. She didn’t deserve what these pigs did to her, but she DOES deserve justice, she DOES deserve help and she IS worth every second spent fighting for it.
So please, get the word out for her sake. Don’t think that you can’t help, because you can. It only takes one person to stand up and say “enough.” This girl and her family—and even other kids from the school!—are screaming for help, but no one is listening. They can’t ignore all of us. It only takes one click to add your voice to theirs.
So, come on. Let’s give these monsters what they deserve.
“I am 15 and he is my first boyfriend. He is 18 and 6'4" and his hands are the size of thick textbooks. He says he has a lot to teach me. He is drowning in his sadness. Drowning people often believe if they grab hold of someone else they can be saved, but it just makes you both sink faster. I am 17 and she is my first girlfriend. The only thing we do more often than fight is fuck each other. I tell her about the boy's hands and she tries to stretch her fingers wide to mimic them. I say stop it. I say I love you as you are. I am 19 and in the first of many dirty rooms with books strewn everywhere and a mattress in one corner. These rooms always belong to boys with unshaved faces and tender hearts. Boys like this are a dime a dozen, but I don't know that yet because tonight I'm with the first one. He hands me a beer. He says he thinks I'm smart. He orders me to take off my clothes. I am 20 and in love with someone who tells a lot of lies. The punishment for telling lies is that I become cruel. The punishment for being cruel is being abandoned. I am 20 and it is not sex because I don't say yes. I say stop but that doesn't make it stop. I am 20 and crying because my friend Aaron wants to kiss me, and I know if they does I'll still taste like betrayal. ”
—Consent Issues and why S.E Hinton should not play the victim in this case.
This is by no means a hate post (even though I am very very angry), so if anyone of the people involved in this show read this, I would like you to understand where people with mental health issues and those bothered by jokes referring to them are coming from.
In order to establish a proper communication beforehand that is unbiased and simply presents the facts as they are, I will, of course, make use of screencaps and quotes to explain this issue.
And it’s a big one that goes far beyond what S.E. Hinton in the past called “the shipping shit”.
So here we go.
This is the original tweet. Trigger warning for consent issues and rape.
Teenager commits suicide after photograph of her 'being gang-raped' goes viral
telegraph.co.uk
Rehtaeh Parsons, 17, was found by her mother in the bathroom of their family home in Nova Scotia shortly after she hanged herself.
Her family said her suicide was the result of almost two years of bullying and depression after a photo purporting to show her being raped by four boys went viral and spread through her school in Dartmouth.
The photo of the incident reportedly also included one of the boys present posing with a smile and a thumbs up.

Signal Boost, Please! tw: abuse, rape
So one of my really good friends is in a very dire living position and she needs any help she can get. She’s living in a household full of intense verbal and emotional abuse, and it’s getting more severe by the day. To make matters worse, she cannot find work in her small town because of the high probability of seeing her rapist, which would trigger her debilitating PTSD.
Her parents have cut off any way for her to get money, not allowing her to sell any of her belongings, since they discovered she was thinking about leaving against their wishes. She does not have a driver’s license due to health problems, and cannot just up and leave without any money or transportation.
She does not have any friends in state she can stay with, but we are trying to find an out-of-state friend that she can stay with for a little while (a few weeks to a few months). She is not sure if her parents will cut off her health insurance once she leaves (but probably, yes). Outside of a cheap bass guitar that she may be able to sell at a pawn shop for 50-100 dollars, she has no money and no belongings that she is able to sell.
She has planned for her leaving every way possible, including quitting smoking and drinking, in order to not need any money except for the basics.
She needs to get enough money for transportation to an as yet undetermined out-of-state friend who can help find her a job (all of her references are connected to her parents, so this is crucial). She also needs enough money for food and at least one month’s rent (the more money, the longer she’ll have to find a job of course).
She wants her name, tumblr, and contact information withheld for her safety, but it’s available upon request after I check with her. Things would just get worse if her parents found out about this. She’s located in the Southwest of the United States.
There is a Donate button on my blog that goes direct towards her.
Thank you so much, this means the world to us.
I cannot believe this fandom right now. How the hell is this even up for debate? I am sorry, but I am harshly judging anyone who dares say Theon wasn’t raped. Just because his body reacted UNVOLUNTARILY to a girl grinding on him does NOT mean he gave consent. Rewatch that scene if you see it as anything else but rape. He is TERRIFIED. It doesn’t matter if he was attracted to the women; it doesn’t matter if he had an erection; it doesn’t matter if he didnt try to fight her off him. IT WAS RAPE.
“When presented with evidence of systematic discrimination, majority students are often indifferent, and sometimes defensive and resistant. “What does this have to do with me?” they ask. The more defensive among them immediately mention several facts that they believe will absolve them of inclusion into the superordinate category. “My family never owned slaves.” “I have a gay friend.” “I never raped anyone” are fairly typical responses.
Some will assert that white people differ dramatically from one another, that ethnicity and religion are more important than race. Others maintain that white people, as a group, are not at all privileged. And virtually all agree that racism is a problem of individual attitudes, prejudiced people, and not a social problem.
Such statements are as revealing as they are irrelevant.”
Bolding for truth and also for sass.
