Guys (and ladies!), my tumblr buddy is awesome. I received my belated Christmas gift yesterday (both my tumblr buddy and I were traveling around the holidays, so this worked out perfectly), and was so excited to open up my package! Inside, I found…

…a bunch of candy cane Hershey kisses (how could you have known that my boyfriend’s mom sent me home with a bag of these because I love them so much? Yum!), and delicious Ghirardelli caramel chocolate squares…

…this cutey-patooty! (I think I need to name him!)…

…a $10 Victoria’s Secret gift card (I really need to get myself to the mall!)…

…and this beautiful scarf! I had to take off the scarf I was currently wearing and put it on right away! There was also a really sweet note enclosed.

Thank you so, so, so much for my gift, Tumblr Buddy. You are amazing! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season, and that school’s getting off to a good start again for you! 

I love this Christmas package with the force of 1,000 reindeer. I have four brand new favorite things. I have devoured (if you can devour a beverage) this box of tea. I’m not sure if i’ve mentioned it or my buddy is just so in tune to me that she knew but tea, specifically mint tea is my thang. every night i make a cup of tea and curl up in the corner of the couch. oh look! an amazingly cute and trendy new tea mug! amaze, buddy, amaze. and while i’m enjoying my new favorite tea i’m wearing my new fuzzy, candy cane slipper socks (when i can get them away from one of my children who think they are awesome to slide around the floors with).

Lastly, my buddy expanded my horizons with this cute little package of benefit cheek and lip stains. i was nervous to try them out because i’m sure i would look like a toy soldier with red paint on my cheeks but they are actually perfect - and not like that at all. i love the tint with a dab of high beam on top for the perfect kissed cheeks. i will never go back to powdered blush again!

This past Saturday I celebrated my 23rd birthday. And on Thursday, I opened my door to find a package from my AMAZING tumblr buddy sitting on my doorstep! The package made my day, and included all sorts of fun little things!

Inside I found an awesome card (with a very generous gift card inside!), a bag of my favorite candy bars (I had already nommed on the cookies and cream Hershey’s bar by the time I snapped this picture), two nail polishes, chap stick, gum, a face mask, and some new mascara (how did you know I’ve been avoiding buying new mascara for weeks now?!). 

Tumblr Buddy: You are nailing it. Thank you so, so, so much for your thoughtful, generous, and incredibly kind gift. I appreciate it so much!

I have a huge thank you to get to, but first, a story…

Tomorrow, I turn in a final draft of my thesis to my committee. I have been working on this thing for months, and this week in particular has been hellish in terms of trying to tie up all of the last-minute loose ends. Since I’m a perfectionist, it’s so hard to convince myself to let it go and trust in what I have on paper now.

Anyways. I spent 6 and a half hours today in a coffee shop working on said thesis. After I left the coffee shop, I dropped my bike off (after nearly being run down) for a tune up, and then had to walk about 25 blocks to get home. I spent that walk on the phone with my boyfriend, nearly in tears and seriously close to a breakdown.

I get home, convinced the rest of the night will be hell, only to see a package sitting in front of my door. And now for a few pictures…

I know everyone says this, but this package seriously could not have come at a better time. From the bottom of my heart, thank you, thank you, thank you. You totally and completely turned my day around and reminded me to take some time for myself and relax! 

The day I was headed out of town on my 4th trip of the month - completely exhausted and overwhelmed - a package appeared at my door. We were taking the whole fam-damily on a trip up to Smalltown Oregon for 4 days right before Halloween. This made Halloween prep a little crazy. But this package brought me great hope and joy. Waiting for me upon my return home would be some adult Halloween indulgences. A bottle of Zombie Zin! (sidenote: i only learned to enjoy wine this year and my favorite just happens to be Zin - people say it is the party girls’ wine)
