Pineapple Picnic Loaf Recipe
Two lb. finely minced steak
Two-thirds cup fine dry breadcrumbs
Half cup minced onion
One slightly beaten egg
One tablespoon chopped parsley
Dash pepper
One teaspoon salt
Eight slices canned pineapple
One cup brown sugar
Quarter cup pineapple syrup
One tablespoon vinegar
One teaspoon prepared mustard
Combine the beef, breadcrumbs, onion, milk, egg, parsley, salt and pepper. Mix Lightly and shape into nine patties the same size as the pineapple rings. In a lightly greased loaf tin alternate the patties with drained pineapple slices, starting and ending with a patty. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Combine the brown sugar, pineapple syrup, vinegar and mustard. Drain any liquid from the loaf and pour over glaze. Return to the oven and cook a further 30 minutes until cooked. Remove from the tin and cool. Serves eight.

Censorship in the 21st century.. Tip of the proverbial iceberg, this is.
pri.orgIt’s 2011 and the first news story that pops up on my RSS feed today is about censorship? Really, people? Our political correctness is killing us. It stifles creativity and honestly prevents people from grasping the full concept of the story. Censoring works of art, pieces of history, such as Huck Finn / Tom Sawyer, completely ruins the point Twain was trying to make. They’re *satire* to start with. One of the main points of the harsh language was to illustrate the effects it had. When you remove that factor it causes the story to make much less sense and have far less of an impact.
In what fucked up world does this make sense to anyone? Who thinks this is acceptable? I mean for the sake of everything holy, why even celebrate banned book week? Re-editing books to someone else’s liking is just as bad, if not worse, than banning them altogether. I hope whoever pushed this bullshit into existence has a work of art of theirs, or something they are deeply proud of, censored. Or burned, banned, protested, et cetera. This is literally outrageous and I am appalled that it is being allowed to take place. I have further lost faith in humanity.

Review: RKT’s might be in my all-time top 10 (homemade, of course) but this snack fails on EVERY front. There is not a single element that isn’t disgusting. The only ingredient that could and should be it’s salvation (the Rice Krispie Treats clusters) are small, unsatisfactory, gross, and not in the least gooey. I could go on for a long time about my disdain for this travesty of a snack (for instance, why are there covered AND plain pretzels?! - Also, why was there a single mint flavored “Cocoa Button” in my bag?). Whoever the ignorant young go-getter at Kellogg’s was that pitched this idea should not only be fired but he (or she) should be forced to eat this despicable crap every day for a year. For shame Snap, Crackle and Pop. You’ve let us all down.
