Filter Paper

i turned your train stubs into filter paper 

each time it’s turned i’m reminded with urgency that

this is not a receipt

no refund 

no exchange 

it is printed on the very damn page

which now made into and escapade

of salutes in cascade

a march for the brigades

who support the rampage with battalions  

who assert their power as a nun

yet with force that absorbs civilians like a sponge 

imagined revenge lends its’ feet to a scrimmage 

the winner of the latter 

promised their will that their hearts were to shatter
