Top Ten Tellius Characters #7: Pelleas

Even if I falter and fail… My friends will defeat you. This belief sustains me. I can fight you because I am no longer alone.
- Battle quote vs. Lekain
Being my newest character love, Pelleas was the hardest one to figure out how to place. If the intensity of my current adoration for him is only because he’s the new and exciting thing, would I later regret putting him above long-standing favorites? Or should he get the shaft merely because I wasn’t able to appreciate him until now?
Top Ten Tellius Characters #8: Sanaki

“Not to repeat the king of Kilvas, but we have more pressing issues we must attend to. Oh, and Hawk King? Don’t ever call me “child” again.”
When thinking about Sanaki, I can’t figure out what one trait of hers rises above the others to make me love her. There are simply too many. But perhaps that’s why I love her—every way that she could have been one-note is avoided and balanced with other aspects that make her a rich and real-feeling character despite what seems like an inherently whacky archetype.
Top Ten Tellius Characters #6: Mist

“Yesterday, I was so confused. Then, I awoke this morning and saw the blue sky, felt the sun on my face… And I thought, I’m alive. The sunlight was so warm. I mean, it’s always warm, but…for some reason, it made me want to cry.”
Mist is my favorite ‘little sister’ character in fiction, primarily because her character goes beyond the personality traits associated with that role. There’s more to her than her sibling relationship with Ike, and while she is sweet, energetic, and adorable, she is also a strong and admirable figure that’s earned my respect.
