I remember a year ago when I was getting ready for school watching MTV, and a video started playing. It started out with some kids telling about how much music meant to them. The music hadn’t even started yet, but I was already moved by the video. Then, the video shows a concert with a ton (and I mean a TON) of fans waiting for the show to start.

Then, I see three guys walking down the street. The first thing I thought of was how horrible their taste in clothes was. Then I see the guy with the mohawk walking on stage with the other two guys behind him. I thought he looked like a total badass in his sunglasses. Then, I see him singing, and he has the most gorgeous eyes I have ever seen. I also see that his name is Jared. Then I see some guy named Shannon waiting for the subway but not looking at it because he mustv’e been too badass. But then I think no guy with a name like Shannon could be badass. But then, I see him riding a motorcycle, so he is badass. Then I see this Jesus-looking dude who was jumping around on stage a lot. His name was Tomo. The way Jared was handling the crowd was incredible. I could tell he had great charisma.

Then, I noticed how crazy this band’s fans were. They all looked so happy and excited. Then I noticed Jared’s body. DAYUM. After that, a young girl was talking about how she wished war didn’t exist. That made me tear up a little. Then I noticed how hot Shannon was. DAYUM. Then I realized how beautiful Tomo’s hair was. DAYUM. Then I realized that this band didn’t have fans, it had a family. 

Then, I really payed attention to the song. “I will never forget, I will never regret, I will live my life.” At that point in my life, I was going through a rough time. I got bullied at school, and all my friends were stabbing me in the back. I realized that shit happens, but you have to move on and start living your life the way you want to.

and that is how Closer to the Edge by Thirty Seconds to Mars changed my life
