It was raining, Reynir noted as he ducked under the awning of a café to pull his hood up. Raining on a day when there was supposed to be no rain. Hadn’t the forecast predicted sun today? At least he was prepared, as always, with his trusty hoodie and boots. He smiled slightly to himself, glancing up and down the street to watch people sprint from one shelter to another, unprepared themselves for such weather. Poor, unfortunate souls. And then he caught a glimpse of lightning down the way. Yikes. Nevermind, he wasn’t continuing until this storm passed.

Luckily for him, though, he was standing before a café that he was rather fond of and ducked into as soon as the path to the door was free. This would work to bide his time in. Good drinks and good food at good prices. He tugged his hood down once inside, shook out his damp hair, nodded a hello to the barista, and glanced around for an empty seat. Unfortunately, all the seats were filled- an uncommon event for this café. Must have been the weather drawing everyone inside. Then he glimpsed a table by the windows with a lone female occupant, considered, then dug out his spiral and markers and headed over to try to catch her attention. Damn his inability to talk.
