Yeah Dick might be more agile, cass is a better fighter (but she is better than batman i mean) and jason may be more agressive but that doesn’t mean tim is good. Tim is excelent.

I’ll remove Cass and Damian from the argument, because Cass can beat everyone and Damian is… well.  It’s whatever.  He’s 11.  And he’s supernatural-ish to a larger degree.

I just feel like Tim gets shit on for being a wimp or something a lot.  When it just doesn’t make that much sense to me.  Like, how much does being an acrobat prep you for strategy and fighting?  It doesn’t.  Not really.  Dick learned those things through time and training.

I just always figured the Robins’ were pretty evenly matched, but apparently Tim is the weakling of the bunch?

False.

Anybody who says Tim’s not athletic is WRONG. But it’s definitely true he’s not “AS” as the others in certain physical aspects. He’s slightly MORE a thinker, CANONLY, than the others, but that doesn’t mean they’re not ALL just as athletic and smart.

I agree, to a certain extent.  I think they all have their strengths, but I guess each of their strengths comes with a set of weaknesses.  And it evens them out more then people think.  So Dick is more bendy, and Jason is aggressive.

But Tim is more cerebral and he’ll beat you with a crowbar if he has too. I actually make the assumption that Tim is just as dirty of fighter as Jason.  Maybe that’s wrong, but it’s how I see it.

My rage stems from the fact that people think Tim is a weakling or a pushover, when I think when put toe-to-toe with the other Robins, he’d hold his own just fine, thanks.

And what’s more, is in the hands of a good writer, a lot of times Tim barely has to fight at all.  I really like Dini’s issue where Tim gets captured by the Joker.  And Tim more or less *talks* his way out of it, before he restrains Joker for the cops.

Blerg.

theandysar replied to your post:

Yep I agree it doesn’t help much either that Selina isn’t much the marrying type either. Also so,e writers seem to think and love the idea of a womanizer Bruce….

I have to admit, while there’s a canon argument to be made for it, womanizer!Bruce is not my Bruce at all. My canon of Bruce is very much that he spends a lot of time pretending to date lots of women to keep up his playboy persona, but when it comes to actual relationships, he rarely lets someone get that close. And that’s just his nature - he’s hesitant about letting people get close in general, whether we’re talking about his kids or his friends or his love interests.

I think Bruce’s attitude toward romance in general is usually sort of “I wish I could have that” combined with “I don’t have time for that, I need to be focusing on my Mission/my family/my work/Gotham”. I don’t think having lots of casual flings would hold much appeal for him, but I think he’d see something more longterm as something he simply doesn’t have time for (and, though he would be reluctant to admit it, something I think he doubts he’s capable of). Which doesn’t leave romance a large place in his life, beyond making sure he’s seen with lots of women at parties, etc. to ‘keep up his cover’.

Here and there I do think he actually dates someone, or has the occasional fling or whatever, but it’s a rare thing and there’s no real expectation of permanence there. Not because he’s a womanizer, just because, like I said, he doesn’t see romance as something he has much time for. The few women he’s really fallen for - Selina, Talia, Silver St. Cloud - I think that kind of came as something unexpected, something he wasn’t really looking for. Kind of like they broke through his walls when he wasn’t looking.

theandysar replied to your post: So I’m rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 And I…

I will forever be greatful for the original anime because thanks to it I became this huuuuuge FMA fan but after a few episodes and after reading the manga the first anime became MEH to me… idk it feels it has lots of unnessesary drama and the plot is not as awesome as the manga. It also feel to Ed focused and doesn’t really allow the rest of the crew to evolve… just sharing my thoughts :P

As someone who’s watched both FMA 2003 and FMAB, as well as read the manga, I have to say I enjoyed both of them. I certainly have a bit more bias towards Brotherhood because I enjoyed the plot more and I loved the characters that weren’t able to be featured in the first series. But I also loved FMA03 since it’s what got me into FMA in the first place (so it has a special place in my heart), and I enjoyed how more invested it was in the brothers’ relationship.

And considering the manga wasn’t finished at the time FMA-03 was on, you can’t fault the animators for trying. To be honest, I think some fans can be very harsh when it comes to the first series, and I wished they wouldn’t compare it to FMAB when they’re not the same (and I’m not pointing at you, it’s just something I noticed a lot in this fandom so I just wanted to give my two cents).

I think it’s great if people enjoyed FMA 2003 more or if they liked Brotherhood more. And more power to anyone who’s enjoyed them both (LIKE ME!). I think we should all just hold hands and cry over the fact that we got TWO ANIMATED SERIES out of this!

theandysar replied to your post: How is a civilian supposed to know Robin has died…

really?

It’s… bad. I mean so far I’ve read people saying things about Carrie like (and I’m gonna copy-paste here):

“It’s basically fanservice that nobody wants. ” (for real, in a reply to a post with the cover for the B&R issue), ”

“I’M GONNA PUKE SHIT IF THIS IS REAL!!” (well worded comments on tumblr, a classic)

“she’s a mediocre fighter and a half-assed Robin, and Damian is almost tenfold her abilities. DC is a nightmare.”

And so on and on and on. It’s nice to see female characters are welcomed.

Umm ok let's ask ummmm WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE VIDEOGAME

Aw man, this is too tough! OTL

I really, really appreciate Devil May Cry (the first one), Psychonauts (except for the final level because n-nooo WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS), and Tales of Vesperia. Loved almost every minute of all three of those, except for the WHYY!difficult parts.*

* I really don’t like it when games get really, really challenging. I’m not a fan of weeping from anger and throwing my controller across the room.

oh OH and I really love the Phoenix Wright series. Which is basically AMAZING. A+, would play each installment again, except for Apollo Justice (sorry, not a fan). Oh, and I can’t play Edgeworth 2 because Capcom is being a jerkface and won’t translate it? urrgghhaarrrghhhh SCREAM OF RAGE.

yeah.

There’s still hope. At least now they aknowledge they have “something” and Steve is not an old married man

Amen to that! And also, at least he isn’t dead, because we had a close call there. :-)

I’m actually pleased that this series is giving Steve a chance to develop as a character beyond being “Diana’s boyfriend”. I do assume that eventually DC will put Lois and Clark back together (you can’t argue with 75 years of canon), though I wish I had faith that it would be sooner rather than later. But maybe once that happens Steve and Diana will get their shot as well. There’s always hope. :-)

Which fandom? DC paints Morrison as is he was something larger than life when in reality he has a habit ob bad characterization.

All fandoms XD fangboys/girls that take things far too seriously and think it’s okay to tell an artist or writer what should and should not be done.  Like, I didn’t like this moment, but I do still like Grant Morrison and his writing.  It’s trippy and different, I can appreciate his style.  I don’t like how Lobdell writes TT, but I do like the way he writes RHaTO.  It’s just frustrating to me that because people take different directions and do something different, they’re attacked by an entire fandom.  Then they blame DC as a whole because one Batman book has a different characterization than another… No shit, different people are writing it who have different stories to tell and styles of writing.  Do you blame artists who have different drawing styles even though they’re drawing books that crossover?  No, and if you do you’re just an asshole.  Sigh, I’m sorry XD I rant about these things.  But anyways, I’m curious to see what they do next.
