TW stylist part 6

*your point of view*
“Do you have to leave?” I asked Max as he started pulling in his jacket.
“I’m sorry Clare but I have to. I will see you later at work though okay?” He pulled me in close and brushed some hair from my face. He leaned in and kissed my forehead. “Maybe tonight we can go out?”
“As long as we don’t get swarmed with paparazzi again” I mumbled. Max and I had officially been going out for 3 weeks but we hadn’t really told anyone until a week and a half ago. And it had been hard a lot of the fanmily had really been sweet but it’s always hard.
“Ok, that sounds perfect” Max brought his lips to mine for a slow, perfect good bye kiss before going out my door.
I went upstairs to get ready for work and though about where Max and I could go. Maybe I can ask Kelsey and Naresha for some advice.
-a couple hours later at work-
“Hey how’s it going Clare?” Kelsey said coming into the Wanted’s dressing room.
“Um good I guess. Well actually I wanted to ask you and Naresha or some advice. You know with dating Max and all.” I asked a little shyly.
“Ok! Let me go get her! Don’t worry we know how hard this is.” She smiled at me and walked back out of the room.
As I waited for them to come back I looked at my phone. I got on twitter and saw a new picture of Max and I. I thought it was pretty cute but my confidence quickly crumbled. So many hateful things scams up and greatly outnumbered the kind things. People were saying things on how I was fat or a slut to how my relationship with Max would never last. I could fell tears filling my eyes as I read them. I didn’t have time to wipe them out as Kelsey walked in with Nareesha.
Nareesha said something to Kelsey and Kelsey left the room. “It started hasn’t it?” Nareesha asked. I was guessing she meant the hate and I nodded. She came over and have me a hug and told me it be okay.
I had started to feel a little better. Then Kelsey walked back in with Max and I just lost it again. What if what all those comments were true and Max had realized it now? Nareesha and Kelsey left the room leaving just me and Max.
He rushed over to me and wrapped me in a warm embrace. “I am so sorry. I didn’t mean for this to happen.” He whispered into my ear.
“It’s not your fault.” I mumbled still sniffling a little as he started to rub my back.
“No it is though” he whispered even quieter now. He softly picked me up and carried me over to a couch. He sat down with me on his lap. I rested my head on his shoulder. He planted a kiss on my head before putting his chin on the top of my head. I slowly stopped crying. max started to sing ‘I’ll be your strength’ as I calmed down. And in that moment , when it was just me and him, I swear we were infinite.

A/n lol sorry for that quote in the end! I just love it so much :) so let me take a moment to thank you for all the support. Please keep sending in ideas. Do you think I should continue and do a part 7

Insanity (n.) Chapter 8

The long black curtains fluttered in the late night breeze as Tom shot up straight from his dream, but it honestly felt like more of a nightmare to him. A cold sweat was falling around his temples and down his face as he attempted to catch his breath. His rough fingers ran across his face and rubbed lightly at his chocolate eyes. As he sat in the middle of the bed all he could think of was how much he wanted Scout back but then he thought to the dream and he had this feeling maybe it was a lost cause. This wasn’t just any dream though, it was a dream that was really more like a small movie he was watching of a time not too far ago that was giving him a bit of a new perspective.

“Fuckers,” he breathed dropping back onto the bed rethinking everything.

The  balcony door was open a crack as Scout padded out from the bedroom she shared with Tom, his long t shirt barely skimming her bum. A little smile spread across her face as she caught Max’s grey eyes that were watching her from the edge of his bed. She mouthed a good morning to him before she slid out onto the balcony to find Tom with a cigarette between his lips.

“Morning babe,” she cooed settling down beside him, her legs twining over his jogger covered lap.

He gave her a cheeky smile before running his long fingers down her bare leg, “Finally crawled out of bed, eh?”

“Shut it,” she laughed before nuzzling herself into his side.

The two of them sat on the balcony listening to the different noises that surrounded them; from their neighbors below fighting to the loud siren coming from an emergency vehicle somewhere on the busy streets. Tom took one last drag of the cigarette before placing a kiss on the top of her head. It hadn’t been a good week for the two but last night they’d gone out and everything seemed to be okay so the two were at ease.

“Let’s go wander the city,” Scout sighed with a smile, breaking their happy silence.

She felt him shaking his head as she leaned against him, causing her to sit up, “I’ve got to go meet someone.”

“Someone,” she sighed. “Alright Tom you go meet your ‘someone’ and I’ll just sit here and worry about you. I mean, I’ve gotten pretty good at it so why should I get one day off?!”

Rolling his eyes he nudged her away from him, “Please Scout, lose the dramatics. You have no idea who I’m going to see so why do you need to worry?”

“Dramatics,” she scoffed standing up. “Anytime you go to see ‘someone’ you come back loaded and with a pocket full of more of whatever the hell ‘someone’ gave you.”

Flicking the cigarette butt he laughed, “Fuck off.”

“Love you too you wank,” she growled stepping back inside.

Hearing the harshness in that small voice he loved so much Max’s head snapped up, catching her just as she swiped a tear that had slipped from her green eyes. He watched as she made her way into their bedroom grumbling the entire way before slamming the door behind her. As he stood up to go check on her he was greeted by Tom walking in from the balcony and searching for his jeans.

“Mate,” he said. “Have you seen my black jeans.”

Sighing, “Yeah they’re in front of the couch…ya know where they aren’t supposed to be.”

“Piss off,” he growled grabbing the pants from the ground.

Max shook his head as he reached the shut door, “Pull it the fuck together Tom or you’re going to lose the best thing to ever happen to you.”

As he knocked on the door he watched as Tom rolled his eyes before pulling on his shirt and head for the door. He knew he could only say so much to him because he knew exactly how stubborn Tom was, the more you pushed him the more he went away from you. He leaned his forehead against the door as he listened for Scout.

“Scout,” he almost whispered. “It’s Max, can I come in.”

He heard a small sniffle before she answered, “Come in.”

Stepping into the dark room he watched her wipe at another tear before putting on a fake smile for him. She got up off the bed and quickly pulled the sheets up and made the bed for the first time in a while. Her small fingers picked at the corners nervously as Max stepped next to her, his hand grabbing hers and turning her to him. As they locked eyes he noticed more tears building up in the corners of her eyes.

“Everything’s going to shit,” she sobbed before the tears lept from her eyes.

Her body gave into the exhaustion of the constant fighting and her knees gave in. Max quickly caught her in his strong arms, pulling her small body into his and onto his lap. He rocked her back and forth, his heart beating erratically in his chest as he thought about how mad he was at Tom. This fighting had been going on so long and he had watched it take away the old Scout bit by bit. As he watched her body give in he couldn’t help but want to swoop in, be her superhero, but he couldn’t because she was Tom’s and for some reason she wasn’t letting go of the shell of Tom that he’d become in the past year.

“Go get dressed,” Max whispered into her hair. “Let’s go explore the city.”

She smiled hearing that smooth accent as she leaned against his rising and falling chest. Sitting up she gave him a smile before heading towards the bathroom to shower away the filth that she felt was consuming her. As she stepped into the shower she threw the shirt over the curtain and let it fall to the ground while she stood under the steaming water.

Max watched from the bed as her silhouette moved behind the white curtain. He bit his bottom lip as he tried to avert his attention away from his best mate’s girl but he couldn’t. She had become all he could think about the last few months and it was killing him. All he wanted to do was scoop her up and save her, take her back to Manchester where things were good.

Shutting the shower off Scout grabbed the towel hanging above the toilet before wrapping it around herself and stepping onto the tile floor of the bathroom. As she stepped out she caught Max staring at her with a longing look in his eyes. The subtle look made her pale cheeks go a rosy shade of pink, no one had looked at her like that in a long time, especially Tom. His stormy eyes quickly went to the ground as a small smile hit his lips from seeing her blush.

“Sorry,” he chuckled lightly. “I didn’t mean to stare.”

She smiled as she brushed her long hair, “Don’t apologize Max, no one has looked at me like that in ages.”

He shook his head knowing she was wrong, he’d been looking at her like that for some time she just hadn’t noticed until today.

The two of them laughed and joked as she messed with her hair for the first time in a while and searched for something to wear. As she stood in front of her wardrobe she eyed the dark tunic her mum had sent her just after they’d gotten to New York, the last time she had heard anything from her. Her small fingers went over the soft fabric before pulling it from its hanger and over her head. Gripping onto the wall she pulled her long boots on over her knee highs, an odd flutter going throughout her stomach as she thought about the look on Max’s face. Stop it — she thought to herself.

Her heavy boots scuffed along the old wood flooring of the apartment as she made her way back to where Max was still sitting on the bed. Stopping just in front of him she held out her small hand for him to grab causing him to look up at her. As he caught sight of her he could almost feel his heart jump into his throat, she looked amazing. Her long hair was flowing just to the side of her gorgeous face and her long legs were sprouting from the tunic he’d wanted her to wear for so long.

“Wow,” he breathed.

Her cheeks went pink again, “Uhm, thanks,” she giggled.

“You look absolutely gorgeous,” he cooed into her ear as he pecked her on the cheek.

Their fingers tangled together as he lead her from the apartment and down to the busy New York street below. As the two of them walked down the pavement Scout couldn’t help the huge smile that had spread across her face. The day had taken a turn for the better and she wasn’t going to let it go to waste worrying about someone who she was starting to feel didn’t care about her.

So she let herself free; if only just for a few hours.

Scout’s eyes fluttered open as her body started to wake itself up. As her green eyes finally popped open she caught sight of the figure that was laying silently next to her. She propped herself on her elbow to get a better look. It was the same man that had just been running through her dream, well memory really, of New York. Max’s strong chest rose slowly up and down as he snored lightly next to her. Her small hand was still placed on his abdomen as she smiled down at his freckled face.

Soon his misty eyes opened as well, catching her smiling down at him, “Good morning, you look awful happy.”

“I am,” she breathed. “I just woke up from the most amazing dream…well not really a dream.”

He furrowed his eyebrows, “Tell me!”

Her small body snuggled back down next to him, burrowing herself in the nook of his arm as she explained to him that she was dreaming about the first time she’d thought she could love him.

The heavy black boots were dragging against the wood chips that were scattered underneath the old swing she was sat on. As she went back and forth Max watched from the bench that was directly in front of it just a few steps away. These two had been wandering New York for almost three hours now and they’d really let themselves get lost, maybe even in a different way than one thinks. He had let all his reservations go about how awful it was that he was falling in love with his best mate’s girl and she had let her mind release all of the hurt she felt and was only thinking of the amazing guy that sat in front of her.

“Come swing with me,” she giggled over to him.

Shaking his head he smiled, “No thank you, I’ll just watch!”

Not even thinking to slow the swing she hopped herself off of it, landing hard, and made her way over to a laughing Max. She sat down on his lap, letting her head nestle into the crook of his neck as she let her feet dangle over his legs.

“You’re no fun,” she sighed.

He rolled his eyes knowing her game, “I know what you’re doing…you are NOT guilting me into swinging with you.”

Let’s just say it didn’t take much of her pouty face to convince him to join her on the other swing next to hers. Soon the two of them were laughing and talking as they pumped their legs to make the swing go higher and higher. He watched her face as they slowed down; her bright green eyes were lit up in a way he hadn’t seen in some time and it made his heart beat even faster than it already was, if that was possible.

Again, the two were off walking towards some unknown direction in the city to let themselves get lost a little bit more.

“Tom,” Kellan breathed taking another hit from the blunt. “This shit is amazing!”

The sly grin of his ran across his lips, “I know…Molly sure knows what she’s doing, eh?”

“You bet,” he agreed. “Are you two fucking already or what?”

Tom almost choked on the bit of smoke that was caught in his lungs, “Oh no mate, you know I’m with Scout!”

“Yeah,” he rolled his eyes.

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean,” Tom huffed.

Gripping the blunt between his thumb and index finger he looked over at Tom, “It means Scout is always complaining about you hanging out with me and the rest of the guys and for fuck’s sake Max is basically fucking her with his eyes. Do you not see that Tom?”

“I-I-I don’t know what you’re on about,” Tom stammered avoiding eye contact.

Kellan chuckled as he inhaled, “Keep lying to yourself Tom but it’s not going to make it go away.”

Tom knew his friend was right, he could count on both hands how many times he had caught Max looking at Scout with this longingness to his eyes. It took everything in his body to keep him from decking him two nights ago when he had seen the two of them laughing with one another at the bar when he’d come back from the bathroom. He hadn’t really seen a change in Scout though, except for the anger he always felt radiating from her, but other than that she showed no signs of going to Max.

“She’d never cheat on me,” Tom muttered.

“Just let her go,” Kellan sighed. “You’ll see how fast she runs to Max once you’re out of the picture.”

“He was right,” Tom grumbled as he stood in the shower. “She went right to Max as soon as she could, I should have fucking known.”

He banged his head against the wall of the shower a few times before he heard someone’s feet shuffling across the tile.

“You talking to yourself now,” Kellan’s voice carried over the running water.

Chuckling Tom answered, “No mate, just realizing how right you were when you said as soon as I let her go Scout would run right to Max.”

Tom grabbed his towel from the shelf before turning the water off and stepping out. Soon him and Kellan were going over everything that he had been thinking and feeling since she had left. He told Kellan how much he had regretted doing everything he’d done to her but also how much, now, he wanted to beat the living daylights out of Max.

“HE took the one fucking thing I had left,” Tom growled.

Kellan nodded in agreement, “Maybe you need to listen to those friends of yours, clean yourself up…but do it for you. Then you can show her exactly what she left.”

“You’re right,” Tom grinned.

Scout had her face almost pressed against the glass of the tiny jewelry shop that stood on the corner of the street. Her eyes glittered as she pointed towards the gold and leather bracelet that was hanging from the mannequin’s wrist.

“Max it’s so pretty,” she sighed before starting to walk back up the sidewalk.

As she turned to look at Max she saw him slipping inside the shop where she had just been outside of. Quickly she made her way back to it and headed inside where he was talking to the lady the stood behind the counter. She was smiling ear to ear as she nodded her head, just before heading towards the mannequin. Max pulled some money from his wallet while she took the small piece of jewelry off of it and headed back to Max. Soon she was wrapping it up in a small box and handing it to Max.

“Maximillian Alberto George,” she breathed as he handed the box to her when they stepped outside.

He chuckled, “Don’t use my full name, it’s embarrassing!”

“You didn’t have to do this,” she said opening up the box, fingering the gold bracelet.

He stopped her in the middle of the sidewalk, placing his hands on either side of her face, “You deserve the world Scout, this bracelets all I can do for now.”

As the words slipped from his mouth her breath caught in her throat just as a tear sprung to the corner of her eye. He quickly swept it away before placing a gentle kiss to her temple and leading her back to the apartment. Their fingers were still intertwined together as they made the last flight of stairs to their floor. They could hear someone making noise from inside the apartment that caused them both to release their grip on each other.

“Hello,” she said opening the door.

They were immediately greeted by an extremely clean apartment, food smells coming from the kitchen and Tom sitting on the couch with a bouquet of Daisies in his hand. Scout bit her lip as she looked back at Max who now had a pained look on his face. As excited as she was that Tom had cleaned and was waiting for her she couldn’t help but feel guilty. Not because she’d spent the day with Max or the fact that she couldn’t keep her eyes off of him all day but for the simple fact that she knew this was hurting Max.

“Surprise,” Tom smiled as he made his way to her.

He had her wrapped in his arms soon enough, lips pressed to her’s, as Max watched on. The room was filled with every emotion possible. Max couldn’t help but feel angry and hurt, he knew she wasn’t his but he had been the one to make her feel better, to make her smile, not Tom and here he was trying to make up for being a twat once more. Tom on the other hand was smug because he could see the look on Max’s face and knew exactly what it meant, he had one. Even if it was just for now, he had won. But what he had failed to realize was that he had only won with Max because the girl in his arms was only thinking about the one he was smirking at from across the room, the one who had made her feel human again.

You Were Worth The Fight ~ update

So sorry for the wait! My parents took my laptop away, so I couldn’t write until I got it back for the weekend. I’ve worked on this extremely hard, and I’ve made this as perfect as I could. Honestly, I think this is my best chapter. My favourite one too!

Thank you all so much for your love, support and patience. Please send me any ideas you have for the next chapter or comment it through Wattpad!

Chapter 12: Stay With Me

Tom

The pristine white walls of the hospital felt constricting as I walked down the hallway. The smell of antiseptic invaded my nose, making me feel all the more trapped. It had been a month since I came here, but the entire place felt completely foreign and new to me.

Some Fans are Crazy (Prompt)

“Where is Nathan? He was supposed to be here by now!” Max complained. Nathan had already missed a concert, and he still wasn’t back at the hotel.

“It worries me, you know? With him being the baby of the band and all that.” Jay commented. Tom nodded.

“What if something bad happened to him?” Tom asked. Siva shook his head.

“You guys, if something bad had happened, he would have called us.” Siva said. Jay rolled his eyes.

“Yea, because he can just call if something is happening. ‘Hey, dude, don’t beat me up yet! I gotta call my friends first.’” Jay said, rolling his eyes.

“How about we split up, and go looking for him? Me and Jay will look on foot, Siva and Max ride around and look for him.” Tom said. The boys nodded. Tom and Jay started looking around town. They stopped near an alleyway when they heard some rustling around.

“Nath?” Tom asked.

“Tom? TOM HELP!” Nathan called out. Tom and Jay ran into the alleyway, pointing their flashlights every which way. Jay’s flashlight landed on a struggling Nathan against 3 girls.

“HEY! What are you doing?!” Jay called out to the girls.

“Oh, he was just sitting here, all lonely and stuff. We wanted to comfort him.” One girl said.

“We’re huge fans.” The other said.

“Yea, huge.” The last girl said.

“Why is his hair all ruffled?” Tom asked, while looking at Nathan.

“Ummm…. We have to go now! Bye Nathan!” The girl said. They waved goodbye and ran off. Tom was on the phone talking to Max and Siva, telling them they found Nathan and to bring the car to where they were.

“What happened, Nathan?” Jay asked, quietly.

“I was on my w-way back to the h-hotel when these girls stopped and asked me for an autograph. I said sure, and once I finished signing stuff, they grabbed me, and took me here. They wouldn’t stop kissing me and stuff. I tried to fight, but they just tied my hands up.” Nathan explained. Jay untied Nathan’s hands.

“Mate, are you ok?” Tom asked, concerned.

“F-fine. I’m just kinda scared now.” Nathan said, blushing.

“Mate! We were so worried!” Max said, getting out from the car.

“Thanks for looking for me, guys. I love you.” Nathan said, while putting his head in Jay’s shoulder. Jay grabbed Nathan and carried him bridal style.

“We love you, too, Baby Nath.” Jay said. That was the last thing Nathan heard before he drifted off to sleep.

TW stylist part 7

*your point of view*
It had been a long stressful month being Max’s girlfriend. We had been going out for 2 months but we had really announced it till a month ago. And that is when the hate had started. I knew it would be hard dating Max but something’s were really hurtful. Thank god Max was there for me. He had been very supportive and would help me through rough times.
But tonight was going to be a night to help forget the rough ones. Max and I were going out with the boys, Nareesha, and Kelsey to a local bar. Max picked me up at my place and we drove down to meet the everyone.
“Bout time you got here!” Tom shouted over the crowd. He had saved us a seat between himself and Jay. We sat down and ordered some Guinness.
We all just talked for a half hour and then started splitting up. Nareesha, Siva and Nath sat down at a little cozy booth away from the crowd. Kelsey, Tom and Jay were in the middle of everything just taking shots and having a good old time. But Max and I stayed at the bar to enjoy each others company.
“I’ll be right back! I need to go to the bathroom” I said before pecking Max’s lips and sliding off of my stool. I hurried in and out of the bathroom. I checked my self in the mirror to make sure I still looked alright and then headed back out.
When I made my way back to Max I saw he had a girl on each side of him. They had tight, short dresses on and I was instantly jealous. I felt stupid being jealous but looking at those girls I saw everything I’m not and everything Max deserved.
Max saw me coming over and smiled. I put on a smiled and walked towards them.
“Hey Clare. Meet Jane and Renee. They are a couple of fans.” He was very polite as he introduced us and didn’t see Renee eyeing him. Jane, who was a bit shorter and had long raven hair smiled at me and gave me hug.
The other one, Renee, looked at me in disgust and turned her attention back to Max. She puffed her chest out trying to show off her boobs even more and batted her eyelashes at him. She just flirted with him as if I wasn’t even there.
I thought I might smack her or something to put her in her place but luckily Jay came over to get some more shots. “And who is this?” Jay asked as the bartender got the shots.
Max introduced them to Jay. Jay got the shots and looke at the two girls. “Why don’t you come take some shots with us and we will show you how to have a good time?”
Jane nodded excitedly and followed Jay, dragging a reluctant Renee behind her.
I sighed with relief and slid back into my stool. Max slid his hand in mine and caressed the back of my hand with his thumb. “What’s the matter love?”
I looked up at him in surprise. Did he really not know? “Did you not see that woman flirting with you?”
Max just shrugged. He took another swig of his beer “so?”
My jaw dropped. I took my hand away from his. “SO you sure as hell didn’t seem to mind. Do you expect me to be okay with that?”
He looked at me calmly “I really don’t think you should care”
I started to get mad now. I slid off my stool. “And what the fuck is that supposed to mean?” I demanded.
But Max caught me off guard. He started to shake his head and chuckle. He slid off his stool to get closer to me. He wrapped his arms around my waist to pull me closer. He leaned down so his lips was next to my ear, and whispered, “Don’t you get it? I love you.”
He pulled away a little to look into my eyes. He had a cute little smirk on his face. He really had caught me off guard. I just stood there and stared at him for a second. Then I wrapped my hands around his neck to pull his face closer to mine so I could kiss him. I pulled away from the kiss and looked up at him. “I love you too”
Max leaned down to kiss me a bit more passionately. He pulled away and smiled. “See you don’t have to get jealous anymore”

A/N there you go! Know send in some more ideas for another part please!

I can’t look max in the eyes after he says this, sighing I open my mouth. “I left my boyfriend the other day, he has cheated on me so many times, and I decided that I had to leave. He made me heartbroken, I don’t want someone that does it too..” I say before he questions me. “and what makes you think I would do that?” He says. “i didn’t ” we say no more, but he hugs me tightly. Then I fall asleep.

The next day, I slowly open my eyes, to notice max isn’t next to me. I slowly look around to find him sat in the large pod chair. Smiling at me. “you are so cute when you sleep” he says. I whack my head back on the pillow. “didn’t you notice the breakfast on the side?” He asks pointing to the tray.

*emily’s POV*

I wake up to some beautiful singing, only quietly. I turn to see nathan sat on the covers. My hand in his. I smile as he strokes my hair. I frown and open the door to go in the kitchen, with him following behind. “im sorry about last night. Maybe I was too soon” he says. “maybe you went over the limit by sleeping in my bed..” I trail off. He looks into my eyes. ” you know your the one for me” he says. he leaves me speechless.

*munique’s POV*

I wake up..slighty nudging tom in the ribs. But he is already awake. “hey babe…” he says giving me a troll face smile. I laugh and he pulls me close. “i think I want to stay here more often…” he says. We stay still for a moment. “you know who you remind me of? A parrot!” I say laughing before running around the room before he finally grabs me. “you should be punished for that” he says lying me on the bed and kissing my neck.

*charlotte’s POV* after my nice breakfast, we both head into the living room. To be greeted by emily and nathan who are sat having a cup of tea. “hi love birds” nathan says. I kiss max’s forehead and he starts kissing me back. “go and get a room!” Jay says also walking into the room. “no thanks, just came out of it” I laugh. We take a seat while everyone has a conversation. “so wheres munique and tom?” Siva asks. “knowing the boy, he’s lying on top of her” everyone lets out a smirk. Before they both enter the room with their hair in a mess…

* munique’s POV*

After a while max walks out the kitchen, but charlotte Doesn’t, she has her face hidden behind her hands, sat on the floor in a little ball. I check on her, noticing that tom is following me. I sit next to charlotte on the hard laminated floor. “Awwww…it’s ok, why you upset?” I ask. she doesn’t answer until she lifts her head from her hands. ” im…trying so hard…to forget about toby, but then im already getting off with someone else, it’s only been two days..” she says sobbing. Tom gives me a worried glance. “it’s ok…honest, max seems the right person, I’ve noticed how he makes you happy” I say trying to comfort her. She wipes away the tears and stands up to walk in the living room were emily, nathan, max, siva and jay are sat.

“you are such a kind person…” tom says while walking up behind me. He wraps his hands around my waist…sending butterflies through my stomach.

*emily’s POV*

“um…how about you guys…stop over?” I suggest. They nod as I try to find some extra pillows and duvets. Once everyone is settled, tom sneaks into munique’s room with his top already off. I turn out all the lights and fall asleep. After an hour of peaceful sleeping, I hear my door creaking. “Can i….stay in here?” Nathan asks. I nod not thinking as he climbs in. He doesn’t have a top on..making it quite awkward. We don’t talk as we fall asleep. Knowing that nathan has his arms wrapped around me.

*charlotte’s POV*

I can hear someone walking to the toilet, and on their trip back, they open my door. “Who is it?” I mumble through the darkness. “max…” without me asking, he jumps on the bed and rolls the covers over him. “who said you could sleep in here like?” I say while turning towards him. I can tell he is grinning in the darkness. He pulls me close to his chest. ” why are you so scared of falling for someone?” He asks softly….

Just Stay, chapter 2.

For once in my life, I think I packed more crap than Allie did. It might be due to my lame need to always be prepared. I mean, there’s no harm in packing a winter jacket right? I don’t know what the weather is going to be like in England. Therefore, winter jacket in..along with everything else in my closet.

“Erm, Christina. There’s no need to pack that ragged thing,” Allie says, pointing to my worn beige coat. I’ve had it since I was 15. I’m 18 now. I don’t see any point in throwing away something that’s perfectly un-holy.

“Wha? Why not?”

“It’s summertime, you know. Also, that thing smells.”

“Ahem! First, it’s been in the winter boxes for awhile. Second, it’s done me well these past three years! And third, are you sure?” I hold my jacket up and sniff it. Okay, so it does smell. Ick. “I don’t want to have to buy another jacket when I get there.”

“You won’t have to. It’ll be fairly warm. And you should do that jacket a favor and just donate it or something.” I make a face at Allie, and throw the coat in the “Do not take to England pile.” It’s rather small.

After three more hours of me packing everything I own, and Allie yelling at me and throwing clothes out of my suitcases, we’re both finally packed and ready for our flight to England tomorrow. Did I mention it’s at 4:54 a.m.? Sweet baby Jesus.

We’re both laying on my bedroom floor, our hair fanning out around our heads creating a silky pile of blond and brunette hair.

“You know, I’m actually a bit nervous to go home,” Allie says. “I don’t know which way mum and dad are going to pull me. I feel like dad will make me choose him because we’re staying at his place, and I feel like mum will try to pull me her way because we are staying at his place.”

She closes her eyes, her hands grasping at the carpet. “I don’t know what to do, Christina. I’m excited to go home, but I’m afraid of what I might find when I get there.”

I turn my head toward Allie, and I notice the worry lines gathering between her eyebrows. Allie’s never really voiced any of her feelings toward her parents’ ongoing divorce. So this is a first.

“It’ll be okay, Al. I’ll be right there.” I reach over and squeeze her hand. Allie doesn’t move. “If things get too bad, we can always dip into our college funds and stalk The Wanted as they travel across Europe and around the world.”

That gets Allie to smile. Ever since we’ve seen The Wanted in that crappy magazine, Allie’s been looking up their videos on Youtube and following every single, damn The Wanted tumblr and twitter. Secretly, I’ve been watching all of their Youtube videos and I do feel a little strange about it. But not enough to quit.

Things are silent a bit while Allie sorts out thoughts I never hope to have. I think about what the hell we’re going to do in England. I feel like somehow, we’ll still end up on our computers stalking The Wanted. Or at least I will…what if Allie gets caught up with all of her old friends while were there? Will she forget me? Nah, she wouldn’t just abandon me in a foreign country…right? I mean it’s not that foreign and it’s not like she’s Alex.

Gawd. Alex. Why am I thinking about Alex?! Now I’m rambling like a mindless weirdo and I have got to get up or else I’m going to continue these weird thoughts.

I stand up, startling Allie.

“We need ice cream. And lots of it.”

Allie looks at me, and she nods.

“You were thinking about Alex weren’t you?”

“No,” I quickly say. Please don’t dig. The less I think about him, the more I can hold myself together. I’ve done pretty well for the past month, what with my heart still healing and all.

I grab my keys off my dresser, and we head to Sonic to order our regulars. Me, a small Oreo blast with extra whipped cream. Allie, a strawberry sundae and a side of small fries.

I eat the whipped cream first, then slowly devour the rest of the ice cream, letting the sweetness fill the raw place in my chest. Falling in love with Alex was surprisingly easy. Maybe that’s because he was easy to love.

I’m not the type to just fall headfirst without looking. I’m the type to overanalyze an option to death before I even take a step. And somehow, Alex got underneath my skin, I let myself not think and now I’m here, still wondering about what he’s doing right now. I don’t regret falling in love with him, because in the end, he gave me a lot more than I could have imagined. It’s the heartbreak, the yearning and aching for him…those things I didn’t expect to feel after it was done. And I was the one to end the relationship.

I feel like an idiot, so I take another heaping spoonful of my Oreo blast.

“You know Alex still talks about you,” Allie says, breaking me out of my reverie.

I shrug, watching the ice cream drip off my spoon into my styrofoam cup. “I know. Him and Ashley seem to be getting along well…he’s going to ask her out soon,” I mumble. If I could rewind time…

“You did the right thing,” Allie says to reassure me. “You didn’t feel the same as he did about you. It wasn’t right to string him along, you knew that.”

“Oh but Allie. Now that he’s gone, now I feel something. It’s horrible. I didn’t realize that I…ya know.” Emotions, feel free to jump out the window. Gah.

“Oh hush. You don’t love him. You just like the feeling of someone being there for you.”

I gasp. “Rude!”

“Shush. I’m here baby,” Allie says, and waggles her eyebrows with a suggestive smirk planted on her face.

“Oh gawd.” I laugh. “Why am I friends with you again?”

“Because I have a rich daddy whose letting us stay at his place to spend the summer where I grew up so you can get to know more about my life and be my best friend forever and ever?”

I laugh again.

“Something like that.”

I drive us back to my place, and we both crawl back into my queen sized bed. Allie’s out like a light, and I’m left thinking about Alex. Again. Why can’t I just go one night without thinking about him?

_______________________________________________

The airport is quiet, but bright, despite the dark stillness outside. Me and Allie are wide awake, Starbucks coffee in both of our hands. We’re waiting outside terminal 12 in LAX, and it’s 8:12 a.m. We had a connecting flight from Georgia to England through LAX (which is annoying as hell to fly across the whole country, to only have to go all the way across it again to get to our destination). It’s not so bad, because our flight doesn’t leave until 8 p.m., leaving me and Allie to check out Los Angeles for a bit before our flight leaves.

We make a few pit stops at touristy destinations, like the Hollywood Hills sign, but we spend most of our time strolling through Rodeo drive and keeping our eyes peeled for famous peeps.  Allie swore she saw Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev at the Starbucks down the street, but I’m pretty sure it’s just a guy wearing a blue baseball cap and another tan girl. LA is filled with pretty, tan girls with gleaming white teeth. Two things I am not. (Not saying my teeth are yellow and rotten…they’re just not the perfect white squares those other girls have.)

Soon enough, it’s 2 p.m., and we decide to spend the rest of our time at Venice Beach. We buy cute swimsuits and beach towels at the Roxy store near the boulevard, and lay out in the sun. We’ve both got our headphones in, I’m listening to the lovely Wanted of course, bopping my head in time with “All Time Low.” This song never gets old.

My eyes are closed and I’m enjoying the warmth of the sun on my skin. I feel a spray of sand hit me. I ignore it, and focus on Jay’s verse in “All Time Low,” but then I feel another clump of sand hit my leg. And another. And another. The fuck?

I open my eyes, and something catches my eye, but it’s the glint of a silver bracelet, which temporarily blinds me. I immediately throw up my hand, to block the white light. Whoever it is, is repeatedly moving their arm up and down, forcing me move my head around to avoid being blinded. Another person hurries by me toward a group of girls on my left, kicking sand up on my towel.

For Pete’s sake.

Fed up, I stand and take out my headphones, wanting to stare down the offender, but a girl’s shriek distracts me. I look to my left at the group of girls, wearing tiny bikinis, board shorts, and jean shorts with bikini tops. I see cameras and papers being passed around.

From what I can make of the people in the middle of their group, it’s a couple of guys they’re surrounding. I squint my eyes, (forgot to buy sunglasses, dangit!), and I see some guy’s curly hair and a flash of brown skin, but I can’t really make out any more of who the guys are, since the horde of girls are blocking my view.

I nudge Allie, whose eyes are still closed. She ignores my budge, and I glance at her towel. There’s no sand on it. Amazing. Mine practically has a smashed sand castle on it, and hers is crisp from the sun and empty.

I nudge Allie again. She props herself on her elbows and opens her eyes slightly.

“What?”

“Look over there,” I say, nodding my head toward the gaggle of geese/crowd of girls.

Allie’s mouth pulls down and she quirks an eyebrow.

“Wonder what’s going on there.”

“I dunno. Think it’s someone famous?”

“At Venice beach? I dunno.”

“Should we go take a peek?”

Allie tilts her head to the side and shrugs.

“Why not?” Allie checks her phone. “It’s four anyway. We have to get going soon.”

We grab our stuff and head over toward where the girls are. I can make out who the guys are.

And I about crap my bikini bottoms.

Chapter 4

My mind was completely numb. It was one thing to see those bodies of strangers in the rest of the plane, but I felt like I knew this boy a little, and watching people who obviously loved him being so hurt, I felt like I had to do something. I don’t know why, but I had a habit of remembering phrases people have said to me, and at this moment, the phrase I learnt from my first aid course came into mind: ‘every second you spend trying to make that decision is a second closer to your patient’s death.’

Shakily, I stood up for the first time, wincing as a pain shot through my legs from the weight of the chair and the impact of the crash. Carefully, I hobbled over to the three boys, and lowered myself back down, legs drained from the little work. Max had stopped shaking him; he was just sitting there, tears rolling down his face while Tom continued to frantically shake his body. In this time, the other two had come over, the lifeless expression on Max’s face clinging to theirs like an infection.

‘Tom, stop it.’ I croaked, throat dry and quiet, but he still continued. I tried again, a little louder.

‘Tom, seriously stop it. You’re only hurting him. I think I can help.’

At this, Max whipped his head round to me as if he’d been slapped, a glimmer of hope in his eye. ‘Really?’

‘Yes, but he has to stop shaking him. Now.’

Taking the order, Max stood up and walked around to Tom’s side, grabbing his friend’s shoulder and pulling him back slightly, much to his friend’s protests. ‘Tom, mate, stop it. Kimberly says she can help him if you stop.’ They both looked up at me expectantly, Tom biting his lip and breathing heavy while Max held his shoulders hard. Breathing deeply, I shut my eyes for a moment and tried to remember what I had been taught. I’d never done this to a person before, but a dummy was close enough.

I reached out and put my hand under his chin, tilting it up while the other held his forehead, keeping it back. Despite sleeping on his shoulder, it was the first time I had touched him. He felt clammy, but wasn’t cold. That was encouraging. Leaning forwards, I put my face next to his, counting for 8 seconds before realising this job just got a lot more serious. He was barely breathing, only small gasps coming out irregularly, so I would have to try CPR.

Realising what I had to do, I forced myself to become brave, and looked up to the boys, setting Nathan’s head back gently.

‘Boys,’ I began. ‘Listen carefully because I’m only saying this once. I’m going to have to do CPR on him, but I’m too weak to keep it going effectively.’

   ‘Why don-‘

‘Don’t interrupt.’ I snapped at Siva. ‘For the best chance, we alternate, allowing others to rest before going again. Lock your hands like this,’ I began, holding up my shaking hands, ‘and then place them on this part of the chest.’ The boys leant forward to watch carefully. ‘You push 5-6cm down at a steady but firm rate, just faster than one push per second. Give 30.’ I began with the compressions, heart beating fast as I watched the boy underneath me jolt. I continued to talk while pushing. ‘After 30, tilt his head back like I’ll show you soon, pinch his nose and lock your lips over his mouth. Blow into his mouth for a second at a time, make sure his chest rises. If not, do it harder next time but don’t linger or try again. Two breathes then 30 more compressions. After you’ve done it twice, switch with the next in line. Got it?’

   ‘Got it,’ a few replied.

‘Right, this is a rescue breathe,’ I gasped, tired from the compressions. Tilting his head back again, I locked my lips over his, breathing in hard. His lips were soft, and I’d lie if I said I didn’t have slight butterflies, but I felt like an intruder, the stillness and temperature quickly reminding me what I was doing, and I carried on, distancing my mind from the situation. If I was ever going to enjoy that feeling, he would be alive.

‘Max,’ I said, starting the compressions again. ‘you’re next. Get ready.’

He nodded, and after the breaths, I sat back, watching as he started his compressions, counting out loud.

‘Right, keep going Max, you’re doing good, but don’t push too hard. You might break ribs, but that’s better than the alternative. If it happens, keep going. Boys, I assumed Max was the strongest. Sit in order of strongest to weakest, quickly.’ I watched as Max administered the breaths, his hands shaky and forehead sweaty, but Nathan’s chest was rising. It must be awful, doing this to your friend, but at least he was doing it right. Turning back around, the boys had arranged themselves. Siva, Tom, and then Jay.

‘Okay, Jay, you’re next, then Siva, then Tom, then back to me. We have to try keep the compressions even. Jay, he’s doing the breaths now, so get ready to start.’

‘Alright,’ he replied, taking deep breaths himself. I rubbed his shoulder, smiling slightly at him. I felt sorry for these boys, I really did. This must have been the last thing they imagined doing in their life.

‘You’ll do fine,’ I comforted, nodding towards Max who was just finishing.

Tom and Siva patted Max’s back as Jay took over, staring at the still limp boy.

Jay did his rota; no improvement.

Siva did his rota; no improvement.

Tom did his rota; no improvement.

I did mine again; no improvement.

Max did his again; no improvement.

Jay did his again; no improvement.

With each turn, the boys seemed to be losing hope, tears and gentler actions replacing the frantic and determined moves they had before. Siva was just starting his rota when Jay turned to me. ‘Kim,’ he said quietly, whimpering slightly and sweating. ‘What if he doesn’t wake up?’

I kept staring at Siva for a bit before turning back to Jay, putting my hand on the back of his neck for comfort like my mum used to do. ‘We can’t think like that,’ I replied, biting my lip and smiling shakily. ‘Not yet.’ Why else could I say?

‘We can’t lose baby Nath,’ he whispered. ‘He’s our best friend. He’s not even 20 yet.’

I wish I had more words of comfort to give him, but even I was starting to lose hope slightly. I couldn’t promise these boys anything. I couldn’t promise their best friend would live. Responsibility was weighing heavily on my shoulders.

Siva was halfway through his second lot of chest compressions when Nathan let out a cough. ‘Siva, stop!’ I commanded quickly. ‘Roll his head to the side so he doesn’t choke.’

Siva did just that, and surely enough, moments later the boy opened his eyes in shock, let out a final cough and sat up, gasping for air and grabbing his friend’s arm for balance. I let out a sigh of relief, watching as Siva rubbed his back gently and the other two clapped each other’s shoulders. It was a heart-warming sight.

‘Ah!’ I exclaimed, as I was suddenly enveloped in a tight hug. ‘Thank you, thank you, thank you’ I heard Jay whisper, voice shaky and tears rubbing against my neck. I let out a small laugh of giddy relief as I hugged him back, tight, rocking his large frame as he shook and cried against my shoulder, relieved that his best friend was alive.

Chapter Six.

I strolled down the beach thinking over everything, probably too much. I found a quiet spot in one of the sand dunes and placed myself down. Everyone considered my life to be ‘perfect’, only it was far from it. People think money can buy happiness when in fact it can’t. I mean yeah, I have the money, the big house, big car, anything I could ever ask for. That’s all great but it doesn’t make me happy, there’s only one person that truly made me happy and he broke my heart; Jordan. I mean how could he cheat on me after everything we’ve ever been through? And then have the decency to finish with me, surely I should be the one ending things? We could have worked through it; I could of forgiven him, but no. He clearly didn’t want me anymore and I guess I was just going to have to live with that.

I felt my eyes pricking before a stray tear rolled down my cheek. I sniffed and quickly wiped it away before anyone saw, I looked up and it took in the happy scenes around me. It was either families with young children, groups of teenagers or couples walking hand in hand, kissing everyone now and again. I couldn’t help but feel angry towards the last one, who did they think they were to be so lovey dovey in public, it was clearly a busy beach and there were much more appropriate places for that.

I groaned in frustration as I ran my hands through my hair letting out a few more tears as I rested my head in my hands. I heard someone clear their throat from beside me causing me to jump slightly. I quickly wiped my eyes realising I must of looked like a bit of an idiot. I looked up to see Nathan staring down at me with an apologetic smile on his face.

I smiled weakly at him before looking out towards the horizon. Nathan sat down next to me and rubbed his hands together awkwardly, I knew what was coming next.

“Are you okay?” he asked. I shifted slightly and moved the windswept hair out of my face before looking back to him. I nodded as another tear let loose. Great, I really did look like an idiot.

He sighed before shuffling closer to me and wrapping an arm around my shoulder pulling me closer to him, I buried my head into his neck as he wrapped his other arm around me hugging me close. I let out the tears that I had been holding back since the day we had arrived here. I felt so pathetic, sat here crying into another guys shoulder. I should be with Jordan.

Nathan rubbed my arm up and down gently in an attempt to comfort me, causing me to shiver slightly under his touch. My mind kept playing tricks on me, I missed Jordan and I wanted nothing more but to have him back but being sat here with Nathan felt strangely nice. I’d never been comfortable around any boy other than Jordan and to be sat in such close proximity with Nathan was odd, yet I felt comfortable.

“He’s an idiot for letting you go,” Nathan suddenly blurted, I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion looking up to him with a questioning look as his attention was focused on the scenes around us. He eventually looked down at me and smiled gently.

“I’m not stupid El, plus your dad always mentioned you had a boyfriend whenever he was around,” he shrugged. “And, judging by the way you stormed off back there I’m guessing it didn’t end well,” He mumbled as he looked away awkwardly.

I sat up, pulling away from his embrace as I turned my attention back to the beach. “He cheated on me,” I suddenly blurted out, feeling somewhat comfortable talking about it with Nathan.

He was silent for a few moments after what I’d just told him, I looked back at him to see him looking at me with almost disbelief. “What a bastard,” he mumbled under his breath shaking his head.

I laughed slightly, nodding in agreement. “The funny this is,” I sighed, “I still miss him.” Nathan nodded in understanding. “I don’t know why, I mean I should hate him right? I should never want to see him again, but I do. And I hate myself for it,” I admitted whilst resting my head in my hands once again as more tears fell.

“Elena,” Nathan sighed as he grabbed my hands pulling them away from my face and sitting himself in front of me. “I really don’t wanna say this but it needs to be said, you need to forget him, as much as you love him; and I can tell that you do, he’s not good for you. You deserve someone so much better, someone who’ll treat you right. You need to move on. He’s a twat.”

“But I can’t Nathan, I’ve tried. Nothing works; I just can’t get him out my mind.” I groaned.

“That’s a lie,” he stated simply. “You weren’t thinking about him last night, I know that for a fact,” he said sounding proud of himself.

“And what makes you say that?” I asked raising an eyebrow at him.

“Because I could see you were genuinely happy,” he smiled. I smiled weakly at him and thought about what he just said. He was right, I hadn’t thought about Jordan once last night, the whole night, even before bed. All that was on my mind was Nathan.

He smiled at me knowingly as he watched my expression change. “I know we’ve just met, but I feel like I know you,” Nathan breathed. I nodding agreeing with him as his smile widened. “It might have something to with the fact your Dad always talks about you,” he laughed. I shook my head in embarrassment and started laughing.

“I’m going to be having words with my father when I get home,” I groaned and Nathan laughed causing a faint smile to spread across my lips.

“He’s proud of you, you know,” Nathan told me, I looked up at him in confusion and disbelief, for some reason I always thought my Dad saw me as a disgrace, especially with the whole Jordan situation.

I smiled at Nathan and turned my attention back down to the beach just watching over everything, a habit that I had. Out of nowhere a gust of wind swept over us causing all my hair to fly in my face, I was about to remove it when I felt someone do it for me. I looked up to see Nathan tucking the final strand of hair behind my ear. I smiled at him thankfully as he stared back at me. I watched him for a moment and he didn’t take his eyes off me once, I was enjoying the silence, it was weird. I didn’t feel awkward at all in his presence.

Nathan’s hand still rested gently against my cheek as he watched me, a small smile playing on his lips. He stroked my cheek softly with his thumb, before trailing it along my jaw line, smirking slightly as he did so.

He quickly removed his hand shifting in his position slightly as he cleared his throat. I looked up at him and frowned slightly at the loss of contact. “So, how about we go out tonight for dinner? Just the two of us?” he asked. I pondered for a while thinking about his offer, he nudged me slightly and winked at me. “Come on, it’ll take your mind off things,” he smiled.

I nodded, “Okay.” He smiled standing up and reaching his hand out for me to take. I took it and stood up with him as he linked our fingers together.

“Come on, let’s get back to the others,” he said as he pulled me down the sand dunes, I laughed as we ran down the hill and I collided into the back of him. He tripped up slightly and stumbled forward. I threw my head back in fits of laughter as he gave me an evil glare. Once he looked up to me he began to laugh along before standing up properly. He draped his arm over my shoulder and pulled me closer to him as we walked down the beach. His arm dropped down to my waist and I smiled as he gave me a little squeeze and we began walking back to where the others were.
