The more I think about the changes made to Dany’s siege of Yunkai, the more it starts to irritate me.

And no, not just because they took her epic zinger “Woman? Is that meant to insult me? I would return the favor, if I took you for a man.”

With the trimming-down and consolidation they did of the various factors involved and the ploys Dany made, which included:

• Giving the Yunkai’i three days to prepare for battle, but in reality planning her attack for that night
• Telling the Stormcrows and Second Sons the same
• Playing the Stormcrows and Second Sons off one another by planting the idea with each that the other company is already sworn to change sides
• Deliberately getting the Second Sons drunk off gifts of wine, again on the assurance that she won’t engage hostilities for three days

Instead, we get a speech by Daario about how all he wants in life is to kill people and fuck willing women. Daario essentially changed sides just so he could seduce Dany and have sex with her. Then he creeps into her tent in the middle of the night and the long, voyeuristic camera pan up her naked body gives us no doubt that it’s Dany’s beauty that won the Second Sons (and thus her battle), and not her tactical cunning.

What is even the point of including the wine gift if Dany wasn’t intending to use it to attack Yunkai that night?????????????
