“If you ever feel embarrassed, remember: You are smaller than a supernova, Quieter than a black hole, And less radiant than a flicker in a white dwarf's eye. That is why it is okay to say to someone I love you, do you love me too? Because a million things already do not love you, And none of that matters. So, if the answer is no, Instead of collapsing in pain, Pile it on the heap of things that you love That do not love you back: Every beautiful landscape you have ever seen, All your material possessions, Including the phone beside you Your favorite book, movie, and actor, The food you are digesting. If the answer is yes, Tell this person now. Do not hesitate and think we can save this for later, After the smoke from the volcano leaves, After you are old enough to know better, After you lose twenty pounds. You will forget why you didn't, And the collapse will be unavoidable, It will feel as big as the sky. ”

Rihanna got so much goddamn flack for showing her kill a man the music video for “Man Down”. A man who raped her in the video. People were up in arms over a video that IS NOT REAL that shows a victim retaliating against her rapist.
On the other hand, Chris Brown beats Rihanna to a pulp IN REAL LIFE and now he is performing at the Grammys and getting #1’s on the charts. Young girls are supporting him on Twitter and even saying that they wish he would beat them. The media has forgiven him and he barely had to do anything, just crank out some shitty songs.
The chances of every person who has ever assaulted a woman winning a Grammy is pretty slim, I’ll admit, but this is just a magnification of the general truth: if you assault a woman, it can be forgiven, just maybe apologize once and then act like everything is normal. If you are a victim seeking some sort of retribution, you better just shut up and keep your head down.
I just can’t with humanity anymore.
