Attention All Homestuck Fans
Make Us Pay
(DFW Boonbuck Project)
Look at Homestuck. Take a moment to pause, and look at how strong of a fandom we’ve become. April 13, 2009, remember the beginning of it all? I’ve stopped and wondered how did we get from a small fandom raving over a young boy sitting in his bed room, to donating over $700,000+ in a little less than 30 hours, just for a game that’s at its beginning? Our fandom has done many great things. Cosplays, Fanart, Fanfiction, Fanmusic, Voice Acting, Broadway Covers, Donating to Charities, Mass Photography, and more importantly, We’ve become a family. Now, I know you’ve heard that a lot, but please don’t stop reading yet. I can go on for hours talking about how great our fandom is from my perspective, but I can’t change yours. Whether your a part of the homestuck fanbase or not, I can’t change your opinion. However, I do want to share my thoughts and ideas. Despite all the great things we’ve done, we’re still considered one of the WORST fandoms to come across. Sure, we’re not perfect, but no fandom is. So, this is where I come in. Homestuckers in the DFW Area, it’s our turn to contribute a little more. To take it to the next step. To show others we’re more than just people who are dedicated to this webcomic, to homestuck. I’d like to introduce ‘Make Us Pay. The DFW Boonbuck Project’.
Alright. So this kid’s just promoting some project-type-thing. Big deal, right? Wrong. The DFW Boonbuck Project is meant to be a group of homestuck fans in the DFW Area, building up funds, food, clothes, almost anything that they can give to those who need it. We’re here to contribute to the communities that have housed us, all while having fun as homestuck fans. Whether you can contribute or not, it would mean the world to me if you can spread the word of this. We want to show people there’s another side to homestuck, and that even us as fans can make a change for the better.
In short, every couple weeks/months there will be meet ups set specifically for donation gatherings. Every so often, we’ll even have meet ups to celebrate met goals, and to show my gratitude to everyone who could help.
But Eli, what if?
(FAQs)
What if I can’t donate?
It’s not mandatory to donate. Spreading the word is the least anyone can do. Anything you can do helps, even if you can toss a penny our way, that’d be great!
When donating, will we be in cosplay?
That’s yet to be determined. Most likely it’ll be a no. (Kids/Guardians/Humanstuck Being Exceptions) However, feel free to go all out on cosplays at celebration meets.
What can we donate?
Clothing, Money, Food, Water, Toiletries, Hygiene Products, Basic living needs. Children’s toys are okay too.
What can’t we donate?
Obvious stuff on this one. Leftover/rotten food, used products, easily perishable foods, overly worn out clothes, etc. You get the idea, yes?
Can I still go to meets even if I don’t donate?
I’d prefer it be for all those who donate/help, however I can’t stop you. So, as another idea, if you give me prove that you’ve donated, you’ll get some sort of advantage at celebration meets.
Where are meet ups going to be hosted?
Parks around the DFW area. Possibly resturaunts.
Where did the project name come from?
I’m not sure of the page number, but there is a flash called [S] Make Her Pay. I thought it’d fit appropriately, considering the fact that we’re the ones paying our time and efforts for a difference. The Boonbuck part just fits in for the actual donating. It’s sort of representing all donations in general.
What if you don’t get enough interest?
I am a determined person, and I will stop at nothing until I get some sort of progress. To answer you question: I’ll keep trying.

Attention Homestucks in and around the San Antonio area!!
School is almost over and summer is pretty much here!!
As we all know, summer is the perfect time for get togethers and ever since the Can Antonio meet up in April I have been dying to go to another one!! Not to mention that my friend, jadedothespaceything, also wanted to go to the Can Town meet up but unfortunately couldn’t make it, which prompted us to want to host a meet up of our own! Details are as follows:
What- A Homestuck picnic!! We encourage that you bring some food to snack on and/or drinks because everyone knows that picnics will be way more fun with lots of people and lots of food!! You can pretty much bring whatever you want!! (jadedothespaceything is bringing faygo and Im going to bring stuff to make sanwiches~)
Where- At Hemisfair Park in San Antonio, in the same area as the Can Town meet up (around the wooden playground under the little wooden house thing with the picnic tables.). I will probably be going as Jake and jadedothespaceything will probably being going as John so if you see either one of use you’re in the right place!!
When- SUNDAY JUNE 17TH!!, from 12 PM to about 6PM (or I guess when everybody decides to leave).
Cosplay?-Yes please!! You don’t have to though. This is a casual meet up where people can just hang out so you dont have to put on grey face paint if you dont want too~ It is encouraged though and we can have photoshoots too!!
Giveaways- It would be really cool if we could do giveaways!! We really have a red scalemate, a red smuppet, and a bucket full of candy to give away. If you want to do your own giveaways go for it!!
Other stuff thats pretty important- We ask that you please show common curtesy to people at the meet and those who happen to be around us!! If you’re a Karkat or anyone else who’s foul-mouthed, don’t go shouting profanity all over the place!! We will be right next to a play ground and there are going to be kids there obviously. Also please don’t bring buckets to throw at people or anything like that. Have fun! These don’t happen every day, but when they do, they are amazing~!!
If you know for sure that you are going to be able to make it, please either drop me or jadedothespaceything an ask or reblog this saying that you are!! Jadedothespaceything and I would like to have an idea of around how much faygo to bring~!! If you have any questions also drop me an ask!! Don’t be afraid to ask me anything! I’m nice, I promise~ >w<

Austinstuck Costume Store Masterlist
- Location: 1506 South Congress Avenue Austin, TX 78704
- Pros: The widest variety of clothing, wigs, accessories, and Ben Nye.
- Cons: Some of the accessories are very well-made and therefore not cheap, parking around SoCo is difficult if you don’t get there early.
- Location: 1605 East Riverside Drive Austin, TX 78741
- Pros: Open year-round, large selection of Ben Nye, seperate store next to the costume shop with a large selection of hoisery and other legwear, as well as jewelry.
- Cons: Much smaller selection of costume gear than Lucy’s
- Location: 8207 Burnet Rd Austin, TX 78757
- Pros: Open year-round, wide selection of costumes and accessories
- Cons: Much smaller selection of Ben Nye, debit card purchases must be $20 or more
- Locations all over Austin, easily find the closest location by typing in your zip code on Store Locator page on the website.
- Pros: Open year-round, multiple locations, affordable price range
- Cons: Some if not all locations do not restock Halloween accessories year-round because the store sells seasonal items.
- Locations all over Austin, same concept with Party City
- Pros: Website is open year-round, very good selection of scary and fun Halloween gear often for a good deal.
- Cons: Stores are only open during Halloween season.
Halloween Superstore(?)
- Located at the Tech Ridge shopping center, to the left of PETSMART
- Pros: They sell the pixelated glasses and sunglasses, as well as a wide variety of accessories.
- Cons: Some of their shoes are pretty expensive, as well as simple t-shirts.
Other tips and tricks to find costume goodies:
- Don’t be afraid to go to stores right after Halloween! You will usually find small things that didn’t sell before October 31st on sale for up to half price! This is the most true with Spirit and Party City since they don’t sell costumes year-round. Keep in mind that there will be less of a selection.
- The dollar store is not as bad as you might think. You’d be surprised what things you can find in there for so much cheaper that don’t necessarily need to be super fancy.
- CLEARANCE SECTIONS CLEARANCE SECTIONS CLEARANCE SECTIONS!
- If you can, shop during seasons that sell what you need. If you need daisies, it will be easiest to find them during spring, and of course scary things will be sold while Halloween season is going on.
Austinstuck Valentines meet!
Hello there, my name is Alanna and I will be hosting an Austinstuck meet on February 16th!
It’s going to be from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Richard Moya park.
Just as a heads up this is south south Austin, I apologize to those of you in north Austin or Roundrock.
More information can be found at my event page here.
Edit: If you cannot view the page (I’ve heard several people mention this,) go ahead and add me as a friend, so I can add you to the group. You can unadd me right after I’ve invited you to the group if you want to, no sweat..
If you have any suggestions for things we should do at the meet, tell me! I’m pretty much drawing blanks other than the obvious introductions, meet and greet ect.
If you have anymore questions feel free to message me!
Also:
I have been arranging a valentines trade, sort of like a secret santa, where you give the randomly selected person a valentine. (the valentine can be anything, card, candy, plushie, as long as you somehow make it homestuck related. Don’t just buy something at walgreens the day of. D:)
If you wish to participate:
FILL THIS OUT: Its a google doc
asap!! I need this done. Sorry for the late notice. Even if you already messaged me, send one of these in! I lost the document that I had names write on. I’m so so so sorry.
Please try to get this done in the next week or so! I need time to tell you who you get, and you need time to make cards!
DFW Texas Promstuck
facebook.comSo DFW Promstuck is in two weeks, provided that everything goes well!
As of right now, it is costing the host a LOT of money to put down two different payments for the location. And if our host isn’t able to pay the $400 down payment as well as the day of $100 payment, we won’t have the location. There’s also the matter of some other group trying to get our spot as well.
If you are interested in attending, please think of donating or paying the entrance fee ahead of time! It’s only $5, which really isn’t that much when you think about it. Most proms are very expensive!
If we lose the location, there is no promstuck for DFW. And I know a lot of people were really looking forward to it. Once again, this is for the local Texas DFW (or surrounding area) Homestucks who are interested in going to the promstuck event!
Any questions? Message tumblr user dirktier. Thank you! :)
