Sam never CHOSE Ruby over Dean. Sam was addicted and using Ruby as a means to end to do what he thought was right. The whole choosing a demon over your brother thing are Deans words, not what actually happened.

well one of my favorite people on tumblr ships wincest like it’s her job so no i’m gonna have to say i don’t hate wincest shippers, neither individually nor as a whole
but while i wouldn’t say that i hate it, the ship itself is something i don’t really like. probably because it’s incest, and incest has always made me really uncomfortable - i’m all for loving who you love, and it’s not my place to tell someone what they can and cannot do in their own love/sex life. but it’s not something i like to sit around thinking about, you know?
if that’s something you enjoy though be my guest, have at it, i’m not gonna try to stop you. just don’t be surprised or offended if i opt not to join you lol.

I did notice the switch over actually! I think it also had something to do with the fact that Sams had a little more vulnerability to his character/bulked down, etc. lately. That could just be me theorizing though.
Yeah, I can definitely see that. And there are good arguments on all sides, really. No one’s wrong about why they prefer x or y character exclusively topping or bottoming or just not giving a shit — it’s all up to interpretation and that’s fine. Like I said, everyone gets theirs.
The only thing that really riles me is when people get into arguments about it — i.e. trying to talk each other out of feeling a certain way. Eugh. No. If someone interprets Sam as a slutty, needy bottom and someone else thinks he’d be this hardcore, rough dom, fine — just don’t try to talk someone down from their own personal take on the matter.

Thats so weird because for the longest time in the fandom literally ALL I could find was bottom Dean and Im a bottom Sam girl myself.
Ahh, see, I like switching, but I prefer bottom!Dean when it comes down to it.
And I think, initially, bottom!Dean was a lot more popular — at least, that’s what it seemed like when I first joined the fandom — but then people started…I don’t know how to phrase this without sounding rude, but. It was different, I guess, to prefer bottom!Sam — given the purely physical aspect, Sam being larger and whatnot — and now it seems like bottom!Sam holds the majority (of the Wincest shippers, at least).
It’s not a big deal, honestly. There’s so much fic out there that there’s nothing even close to a shortage of bottom!Dean or bottom!Sam, so everyone gets theirs and everyone’s happy (ahem, ideally).
