Crystal Castles @ TLA 3/15/11

On Tuesday night I went to see Crystal Castles play at Theater of Living Arts in Philadelphia. I got there in the middle of opener Teengirl Fantasy’s set, who did a pretty good job of mixing their recorded stuff into an improvised live performance (I couldn’t really tell their singer’s voice apart from the computer noises though). As soon as they finished everyone rushed closer to the stage, trying to secure the best view possible for the night’s headliner. After waiting for what seemed like an hour (some guys who were clearly rolling started chanting “assholes”) a CC roadie came out and took the mike and said something like this: “A few months ago Alice broke her ankle and the doctors told her not to go on tour. She said ‘fuck you.’” The crowd goes insane and everything after this is kind of a blur.
