ah Ivory if you're still willing to give out cosplay tips, could I ask how the heck troll makeup is supposed to work?? I'm not even sure how regular makeup works and there's all this talk about bases and highlights and shadows and seals and I don't know up from down,,,

oh gosh im not exactly sure if im the best person for this because ive only cosplayed a troll 3 times but let’s see if i can break down what i do!! i also recommend this tutorial and my friend kayla is excellent at troll makeup! alright let’s see

i start off with 2 white and 1 grey ben nye creme color liner and mix those to get the grey i want, and then i get 1 steel grey creme color liner. i use the grey that i mix (you can see how to mix in that tutorial!) for the large majority of the paint.

where hightlights and shadows come in is where the white and the steel grey get used. the thing is that the grey really evens out all your features, so i go back over that flat gray with the white on places like the bridge of my nose or the …. cheekboney… parts of my cheekbones to bring those out, and then use the steel grey to help accentuate the features even more (darker on the temples and in the shadow of the cheekbones) and stuff like that!!

as far as sealing goes one time i just laid down and let my friend naya frickin dump it on my face whicg was a bad idea to be honest. i use Ben nye neutral set **TRANSPARENT** (thats important) powder, brushing it on or just tossin it on and then rubbing it in with my hands, and then i finish that off by spraying on some ben nye final seal spray.

after that i do (well i have naya do, u see im pretty much lost with normal makeup to) my eye makeup and re-line my eyebrows with a black brow liner which is a pretty important step or else your eyebrows look all washed out!!
