(Think about it: in the absence of what we know today about geology, genetics, evolution, etc., Deism was the progressive, rational choice available to them.) So reason, not scripture, formed the basis of their ideas. It ill serves the continuation of their principles today to leave reason out, and substitute scripture in its place. That direction leads to tyranny and collapse of their project.”
—(Would it be more credible if the Atheist/Humanist Community who would be Protesting about “Taking America Back”, instead of Tea-baggers?)I can't say I care very much for President Obama, or Democrats in general, but I care for the current climate of conservative obstructionism even less...
Think about it: whatever the President says, Republicans and the tea baggers always insist the opposite is true. If President Obama said the sky was blue the right would insist, at the top of their lungs, that the sky is actually green and that anyone who disagreed hates America.
If President Obama opened a press conference by saying, “I’m wearing pants!”, Republicans and tea baggers would seriously debate whether or not the proper term for what he is wearing is, in fact, pants. “Well they look more like slacks to me, and no patriotic American would ever refer to slacks as simply ‘pants’. More lies from Obama! Why does this President hate America?”
How are more Americans not seeing this? At this point it’s just blatant.
