To the girls who dance for fun; for the thrill of being on stage, not to gain fame or fortune.
To the girls who spend hours upon hours a week in the studio, and still can’t get that perfect Grand Jete or get up onto those Toe Stands.
To the girls who stretch faithfully and regularly, but still just can’t seem to gain flexibility.
To the girls who dance at small, local studios, not huge dance corporations with national award winning dancers.
To the girls who compete in three regional competitions a year, not different competitions every weekend all over the country.
To the girls who feel untalented or discouraged about their dancing, because of shows like Dance Moms or people on Tumblr who criticize and insult pictures or videos they post.
To the girls who had to get over their dreams of dancing in NYC or on Broadway, because they know it is unrealistic or just not possible because they know they just are not good enough.
To the girls who sleep, breathe, and live dance, but are always overlooked.
