Thank you for talking about the importance of using a properly fitting saddle over riding bareback constantly. There are many horses that end up with damaged backs because this isn't as widely a known fact as it should be.
It’s no problem! A lot of people seem to think that because it’s more ‘natural’ that it benefits the horse when in reality it puts a lot of pressure on the spine and back.

True dat! It's not the bit in the horse's mouth, but the hands that are connected to it that cause a problem. It really isn't nice to attack anyone, especially without understanding what is going on. I hope you weren't attacked. :(

Yep, that horse's tail is broken. Purposely. Because it looks "pretty" or "traditional." To keep it in place they wrap it like such. The curb should be even with the line of the horse's mouth if it wasn't in use... but it is. Constantly. And that band on his legs! Supposedly it helps teach the horse to lift more and strengthen that reach by creating a bungy like tension. Not that the horse can't do it without....
Exactly, it’s all for the horse to move or look ‘nicer’ for showing purposes. None of it actually benefits the horse in any right, but people still insist on doing it because they only think of horses as tools to manipulate.

Thank you so much! :) That means a lot. I’ve been out of riding for a really long time, but thankfully today I felt fine and was able to work with her for longer. I’m still getting back into it though - I didn’t even visit the barn for nearly two years, and this is only the second time since I’ve been back that I’ve been on for more than ten-fifteen minutes. :)
