Let me tell you about one of my favorite people
This here is Mer, or Strider69

and she is literally a perfect person. Look how cute she is

She is one of the most selfless people I know. She’s understanding and kind and beautiful, and has a way of making things feel okay even when they really aren’t. She gives the greatest hugs and wow, she’s just an amazing person. And beyond that, she’s brilliant! She works hard at everything she does, and succeeds in incredible ways.
Have I mentioned her cosplays are great??
Look at her Jack Frost cosplay!!!

She’s gorgeous inside out and I love her to death

Look at her! She’s amazing. She does amazing things with everything she touches, and whether she knows it or not, she’s saved me several times

This is the Mala she gave me almost two years ago and its the most important thing to me in my dorm. It’s a reminder to be at ease and to be generous and caring and happy. I take it with me basically everywhere. I’m pretty sure it’s the best thing anyone has ever given me. It’s because Mer is thoughtful. Her gifts have meaning, and I always feel so happy whenever I get a message from her. She’s busy a lot of the time, but she’s making a future for herself and I find that so impressive.
So all I want to say is, if you get the opportunity to become her friend, do it. Because no matter what, it will be worth it to know such an incredible, strong person.
Beatdown vs Clockstopper
they’re two similar, yet totally different songs for homestuck, and they’re by far my favorite two tracks in all the albums period. (sweet dreams timeaus is a close third). wanna know the reason i love these two songs so much? here:
BEATDOWN:
you hear this song when dave strifes bro. it’s very upbeat and quickly paced because hell, there’s action everywhere. dave’s trying so hard to beat his bro and he just CAN’T. he hasn’t really started playing sburb yet, and you get to see what his day to day life is like. mr. cool kid who’s really a dork. he’s only 14, and he has a lot of growing up to do. the song actually (in my opinion) reflects that. the song is a bit childish in its notes, and sounds much like a video game. dave had no idea what he was getting himself into, and this song reflects what he was pre-sburb.
CLOCKSTOPPER:
clockstopper has many of the same notes, and at some parts, has the same melody, but it has a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FEEL. it’s much more serious, and thanks to the electric guitar, it has more of a rock feel to it, rather than the childish video game feel. you can tell the differences from beatdown to clockstopper, and i believe it depicts how much dave has grown and matured throughout the game, being a knight of time, and finding his bro dead, among other things.
for that to happen to just a small kid, it changes you, and i think that’s exactly what the creators were trying to show when they made beatdown and clockstopper. i could go on and on and on about this, but i’ll just stop here. either way, these are two amazing fucking tracks, and just hearing the similarities and yet complete differences in them gives me dave strider feels that i don’t think i’ll ever be able to shake.

PSA: i’ve had a number of people message me about cosplaying from my AU and while i’m busy sitting here resisting the urge to roll all over the floor and make inhumane noises i only have one condition:
show me when you’re done! :)
jeeeezz wow fuck. god. damn. this is really happening isn’t it
I think meeting new Homestuck's is fantastic. Like, I was working at JoAnn's and a girl came in working on her prom dress, and I mentioned that I did cosplays, and I had a black and green dress to get done. She gave me a look and asked "Do you know Homestuck?" and I was suddenly grinning from ear to ear and I said "Let ME tell you about it!" We went on about the story and our ships all while me cutting her fabric. It was great. We exchanged phone numbers and FB's. She was the cutest thing, too!
aww perfect!
