Thren and Andie Storyverse [5]- Immortality, and Sindri
Immortals are, as the title implies, immortal. However, this does not make them invincible; though strength [physical, mental and magical] varies between immortals, being killed is still a possibility.
Some immortals are born with it, and some trade their soul for it. Some obtain magical power and it’s granted as a bonus. Overall, immortals happen here and there in the realms of both the living and the dead.
Some immortals have regenerative abilities, or find unsavory methods to keep up their flesh from rotting (by taking others’). Some immortals are liches who are mostly bone; some have mutated bodies that aren’t even discernibly human.
All these variations aside, the golden rule is, while they are unaffected by time, other factors can still kill them.
Q: Do immortals happen in any certain world?
A: They happen in any and all of them. Gods, wizards/witches, or just born that way.
Q: How can you tell if someone in Somberland is immortal?
A: Here’s how:

Immortals retain their color outside of Somberland houses, while ghosts become blue and partly transparent.
Q: So wait, what if a living mortal visits Somberland?
A: Somberland is only suitable to support afterlife, so anyone who visits Somberland instantly dies. It’s painless, but…
ALRIGHT THAT’S ENOUGH IMMORTAL LORE [for now] HAVE A CHARACTER:

This is Sindri O’Ring, or as he’s known, Tyrant Lord or ‘The Mad Hyena’. His parents were both powerful wizards from a distant world, and he was adopted in infancy by the witch Alice Candyman. When Alice married a ghost, Sindri adopted his last name and grew up in Somberland [with his younger sister, their daughter].
As a full-blooded powerful wizard, Sindri’s specialty is manipulating metal [not by magnetism]. He abuses it, however, to create giant behemoths of machinery and crush those in his way. He is very loud, brash and obnoxious, as well as abrasive, as well as hot-headed and at times, mentally unstable. His major accomplishments include taking over an entire planet.
Thren and Andie Storyverse [3] - Somberland Details, and Jasper + Myrtle
Somberland’s the realm of the innocent, great, good [and mostly okay]. There is infinite space, resources, and no money required; one can live as peacefully or lavishly as they want. High-speed rails connect various major areas of Somberland.
Hell residents cannot visit Somberland, and if it comes down to it they have to break in. Somberland residents can visit Hell, however; and immortals can do as they please, unless they die [and then are subject to Purgatory’s rulings].
Q: How do you reunite with a loved one?
A: Usually, citizens are informed if a close friend or relative has deceased recently. They can either elect to be directed to them upon arrival, or to remain hidden from them. It’d suck if every member of your family knew where you lived!
Q: How does Somberland get its infinite resources?
A: Everything is created by Somberland itself; Somberland is fed by the happiness and contentment of its inhabitants. It’s a perpetual magic engine. There were threats to Somberland’s intake, such as when Hell inhabitants broke in and made Somberland residents lose their sense of security.
Q: Is Somberland cloudy like Heaven?
A: Nope! It’s an entirely blue landscape. Once inside a home, a person regains their normal coloration; but outside, a ghost is blue. The roads are mostly cobblestone.
Q: How do businesses work?
A: People can still get jobs and earn money, usually in Hell, and use them at other Somberland attractions. Admission to huge places [such as Mr. Gold’s Amusement Park-Zoo-Aquarium] is always free.
Pretty much, money isnt needed, but if you want handmade or specialty food from places, you have to earn money.
Q: How do pets work?
A: There is a ‘pet shop’ with a Somberland subdimension attached to it, containing all the souls of animals. It is an ideal, ‘perfect’ environment for the animals. There, one can find their pet and reunite with them; and someone looking for their pet can take one without an owner. As well, if an animal desires to be with their master, they can leave themselves and be sent to them. If their master is in the torture chambers of Hell, their pet is put in their cell between punishments (however, their stay is lengthened). Usually people prefer to have the pet over the shorter sentence.
Q: What’s an archangel?
A: It’s just like an archdemon, except it is related to the seven virtues and good influence; they all grow wings and haloes; and the office can shift around, if the archangel in question does not meet their ‘slot’.
For example, the archangel of Diligence must remain diligent, or else it goes to the most diligent person.
ALRIGHT THAT’S ENOUGH SOMBERLAND LORE [for now], HAVE A CHARACTER…
WAIT WHAT IS THIS?? A DOUBLE CHARACTER SPECIAL!! :

Jasper Darby, RED’s halfbrother, is Somberland’s resident leading health inspector. Every nook and cranny is thoroughly documented and he lies awake at night, crying at the offensive dirt. He has OCD, and several behaviors send him into a meltdown— should they break routine.
He is a very strict professional person, and fusses over his manners and tact, and feels horrendous guilt if he violates his own codes. Besides this, he can be really catty and judgmental of people he finds below him. His and Myrtle’s oldest daughter, Felicia, is Jasper’s darling and he refuses to acknowledge she’s an adult.
Jasper died at the age of fifteen when Sal’s socipathic cousin, Pepper, shot him through his right eye. He’s the Archangel of Good Influence, and can come off as didactic to those who know him.

Myrtle MacArthur is from a long line of clock-makers; her handiwork also extends to really odd instruments such as the whombophone and the one-woman-philharmonic, an outfit which can emulate a small orchestra. She has a very thick Scottish accent and has odd habits such as running around the house naked and making clocks with her feet.
She has a number of odd, existentialist asides, such as questioning whether or not she’s a robot, whether she actually exists, and whether everything is just a dream. She has unexplained super human strength, and a stiff poke can poke a hole in a building like it’s Jell-O.
She was Sal’s best friend from childhood, but Pepper bludgeoned her to death at the age of thirteen. She met Jasper while they were both awaiting trial in Purgatory.
Thren and Andie Storyverse [4] - Purgatory Details, and Mahi
Purgatory is the afterlife government.
No, really; it creates the laws and checks and balances of morality, creates viable context for intent, puts those who have died on trial, and persecutes those who have escaped Hell’s confines when they really shouldn’t have.
Purgatory itself is a linked series of white recreational rooms, and courtyard, that you cannot escape from until you are to be summoned. The priority line is like the DMV.
The actual administration looks like a giant, reaching-into-the-sky-above-your-line-of-eyesight office building. The court room is massive but empty.
Q: So wait, Thren, what happens when someone dies?
A: If they’re very very pure they go to Somberland. If they’re very obviously a douchecanoe they go down the chute.
Q: And what I’m not so inclined to either Somberland or Hell, huh?
A: First you awake in a white room, and you wait for your trial. This can take as long as it needs to; usually, people who’ve died once, or have had loved ones appeal for them to be, may get priority trials. People who are reckless and have died multiple times have to wait for a long time.
Q: What happens in the building itself?
A: Filed paperwork and forms and regulations, appealed rules and laws, and security guards that fill the torture chambers of Hell.
Q: Whoah shit how many people work in Purgatory?
A: Literally innumerable. Think about all the people who have ever died ever, okay? Now think about many times that since theres multiple living worlds. That’s the possible workpool, and so many of them happen to be really interested in working for Purgatory. Purgatory’s a lot like normal human life— regular amount of jerks and nice people, all of them certifiably open-minded enough to be trusted with files.
Q: What if they turn against Purgatory?
A: Their memories are erased by the Grand Judgemaster and they are cleansed of their duties.
…No no they aren’t killed, they’re just sent back to Somberland.
However, if they are a long-serving Purgatory soldier, the masks have an unfortunate side effect of becoming their faces, so they’re sent to Hell.
Q: So it’s an all-seeing/omniscient bureacracy with all the political power with no one against it? Why do neither Hell nor Somberland disagree with this?
A: The Grand Judgemaster isn’t corrupt, thankfully, and eventually gets someone— the Secondary Libra, Faustine— to act as a second opinion.
Plus who would want to argue with someone trillions of years older than them?
ALRIGHT THAT’S ENOUGH PURGATORY LORE [for now] HAVE A CHARACTER:

This is Mahi, or Mahi-Mahi Methuselah [yes, like the fish]. She is the Grand Judgemaster, head, and creator, of Purgatory. She has a very amicable and immature personality, though she can snap into dramatic judgment on a whim [and is older than most of the planets].
She is from the original plane, or where all creation began, called the First Dimension. Her father is the hive mind of Ridley; omnipresent, and prevents the multiple universes from colliding and/or fusing. She taps into his omniscience to power Purgatory. Her mother is also a Ridley.
Mahi, and the secondary libra, are the only ones who perform at trials. Mahi’s hobbies include poking fun at people, sleeping excessively, playing videogames [in particular fighting games and JRPGS], and mentally invading people’s privacy.
